In a surprising turn of events, Xiaomi has teased what appears to be the future of its fan-favorite Operating System. The upcoming, accidently shared screenshot on Xiaomi HyperOS Instagram account showed substantial changes in the user interface, suggesting that it is closer to iOS-style navigation. This leak is coming eight months after Xiaomi made an audacious move away from MIUI and embraced HyperOS as its new operating system.
A Move Toward an iOS-Style Recent Apps Menu
The shared screenshot reveals a new Recent Apps menu design, called “Pile Up,” which is a departure from the vertical card view and horizontal list that users have been accustomed to since MIUI 10. The style of the new layout reminds one of the iOS recent apps interface, which uses a beautiful overlapping stack of used applications so that one can just side-scroll and select from the many used apps. By intending to introduce this feature, Xiaomi realizes a strategic twist toward a more intuitive and friendly design, similar to the simplicity and elegance of iOS.
Community Engagement and Feedback
An accidental reveal by Xiaomi wasn’t just a tell; it was a call to action for the Xiaomi’s community. Asking the company asked, which recent apps menu do you like?.
The options were for the earlier vertical and horizontal menus, as in HyperOS 1.0, and then the new iOS “Pile Up” view as the third option. This is truly a representative approach where Xiaomi is committed to user-centric design, involving the community to express choices and finally get influenced in consuming HyperOS 2.0
The picture for the poll illustrated clearly what the new recent style will be, offering a first look at what might be in store for the user interface on their device. Yes, actually HyperOS is IOS in the Android world, previously users had to Root to be able to mod it but HyperOS 2.0 is an official feature 🤨

Please don’t try to put features similar to an iPhone, there’s a reason I have and I only buy Redmi or Xiaomi, don’t do that to me, I hate the iPhone interface, and also fix the clock interface with Weather Status, which doesn’t work. Thank you
