Xiaomi devices facing dangerous security vulnerabilities

The security vulnerabilities identified by Mobile Security Company Oversecured affect both MIUI and HyperOS. So keep reading this article carefully. The 20 vulnerabilities found in 12 MIUI apps can lead to remote control of your devices, leakage of user data, passwords, and more. Here is the list of 12 apps that create security vulnerabilities:

  • Gallery (com.miui.gallery)
  • GetApps (com.xiaomi.mipicks)

Several of the above apps come from AOSP and Xiaomi’s patching of these AOSP apps is said to have caused some security vulnerabilities. The company is expected to fix all the vulnerabilities with new software updates. Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone makers in the world, but when it comes to software, it has some lacks.

A few days ago, Microsoft reported significant vulnerabilities in Xiaomi’s file manager and the company released a new update shortly after the announcement. Of course, MIUI or any user interface can have bugs, vulnerabilities and so on. No system is 100% secure. The important thing here is that Xiaomi is trying to fix the vulnerabilities by releasing updates quickly before any data leaks happen. We believe that the Chinese brand will fix this problem soon.
