Which devices won’t get Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0?

With Xiaomi starting preparations for HyperOS 2.0, users have started to wonder on which devices the new update will be rolled out. HyperOS 2.0 will undergo a long adaptation process from flagship devices to budget devices. People are asking when the new interface will be introduced, for which devices the update will be released, and many more.

In this article, we will present a list of smartphones that are not eligible for Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0. Xiaomi usually does not offer a long update lifespan to its mid-range and budget devices. The list of devices that will not receive HyperOS 2.0 was created following Xiaomi’s update policy. This is not an official list, but there is a 99% chance that the specified devices will not receive the new update.

Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 Ineligible Devices List

Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 is expected to include significant optimizations compared to the previous HyperOS 1.0. HyperOS 1.0 stands out with refreshed system apps, improved animations, and lock screen customizations. However, HyperOS 1.0 has many problems in terms of battery life, etc. Some devices will be missing out on the improvements that HyperOS 2.0 will bring. We have created a list of devices that are not eligible for HyperOS 2.0. Here are devices:

  • Xiaomi Pad 5
  • Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro
  • Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G
  • Xiaomi 10
  • Xiaomi 10 Pro
  • Xiaomi 10S
  • Xiaomi 10 Ultra
  • Redmi Note 11
  • Redmi Note 11S
  • Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G
  • Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G
  • Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G
  • Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G
  • POCO M4 Pro 4G
  • POCO M4 Pro 5G
  • POCO X4 Pro 5G
  • Redmi 10C

17 devices will not receive Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0. These devices are nearing the end of the update cycle for Xiaomi. Therefore, the brand is not expected to release the new HyperOS update to these models. Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 will be based on Android 14 and Android 15. If you have Android 13 on your device, we have bad news for you. No Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO models with Android 13 will receive HyperOS 2.0. The listed devices have Android 13.

HyperOS 1.0 was a user interface based on Android 13 and Android 14. The new HyperOS 2.0 is being prepared to be compatible with the latest Android versions, and this is bad news for users with older models. If your device is stuck on MIUI 14 or HyperOS 1.0 based on Android 13, don’t worry. You will continue to receive security updates for a while. If Xiaomi adds your device to the EOS list, you will be able to extend the life of your smartphone using custom ROMs from 3rd party developers.

Some models such as Redmi Note 11 series, etc. will end update support in the first month of 2025, i.e. January 2025. We recommend that users learn how to install custom ROMs. If you don’t want to face such situations, you can buy one of the new Xiaomi, POCO and Redmi models.

I recently became the owner of Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G, a phone released last year with Android 11. I find this policy of Xiaomi strange.

Great! I received 2.0 update on POCO 51C it is updated to 14 second Redmi 12C is also updated to 14 – further update has not checked yet! Redmi Nate 8T is updated to 12 and apparently will be stuck on this , the phone is good but memory is not enough so it would be suitable for 2.0 update !!!! Thanks! ❤️❤️❤️

Don’t Expect Great Support From Xiaomi
Like Support For Older Phone Or Tablets
    Their UI is backward
My Redmi Note 12 4G Came With MIUI 14 Android 13 But Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G Came With MIUI 13 Android 12
If You Need Better Support Or Operating System Don’t Get Xiaomi Products

I prefer to invest in a new phone that will give me many years of updates such as the S24 than to continue buying the quality/price that I have been buying for so many years since the Redmi Note 4.

How absurd that my redmi note 12 pro 4G does not receive the HyperOS 2.0 update. It is a mobile of 2023 and should receive 2 updates. I thought Xiaomi gave that possibility to users. I will look to switch to another brand that if they give it. They start well and are already doing badly.

Xiaomi brand users should look for other competing options where we provide security and confidence when we buy a terminal not all are millionaires to be buying new phones every time they come out to have them updated is a lack of respect that a tlf with a year and so much of purchased and soon after it becomes obsolete because the strategy of the brand is that you keep buying new terminals I will look for options to change.

This is my first Xiaomi phone after using Sony for last 6 years and can I say I am very impressed with my 13 pro plus 5g and the amount of updates I receive and will receive. I can’t believe the people on here with older phones expecting life long updates they really need to spend some money and update their phone model. You can’t live in the past forever 😂

I’ve been using a Poco F3 for the past 3 years and it’s been the best phone I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned many. The phone was updated to HyperOS 1.0 in March but in use I’ve hardly noticed any difference. The changes are merely cosmetic and don’t make any difference to the phones performance. All these people crying they’re not getting the update to HyperOS 2.0 need to get a life, just be grateful you’ve been using a phone that’s giving you great service at a very reasonable price. My battery is still above 85% capacity so I’m not rushing to replace it but when I do, rest assured, I shall remain loyal to Xiaomi for their great value reliable phones without stressing what OS it’s running.

Relating to the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G – It’s really a Redmi Note 10 Pro in minimal disguise – so not surpring to miss out. I guess it will be down to the 732G chipset used to some extent.

Coming from the owner of redmi note 12 pro 4g. A phone release in 2023 with android 11 was itself a crooked thing. The phone which should be release with android 13 out of the box
So xiaomi doesn’t have to give 2 major android updates.
I was a big xiaomi fan. I recommended this brand of all of my friends and family and they bought this brand coz of me.
Unfortunately due to xiaomi behaviour against their customer with sucg pathetic policies, this will be my last xiaomi phone. I will now upgrade to Samsung will is giving 6 years of update. Better to spend on quality than quantity
