Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 is allegedly tested by various OEMs including Xiaomi, OPPO and Meizu.

New leaks suggest that an upcoming chipset named Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 is set to be released soon. It is rumored to be undergoing testing on smartphones from Xiaomi, Meizu, OPPO, and iQOO.

Qualcomm will unveil an overclocked version of the Gen 2 and will call it “Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2“. Digital Tech Station, a tech blogger on Weibo, claims that the 8+ Gen 2 will even perform much better than the Samsung’s overclocked chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy.

Samsung has introduced a chipset that’s only available on Samsung phones and is basically an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, rumors suggest that the 8+ Gen 2 will be significantly more powerful. Samsung’s own chipset provided a 5% performance boost compared to the vanilla Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

If these claims hold true, it can be anticipated that the upcoming chipset will deliver more than a 5% improvement in performance compared to its predecessor. It is also said that realme GT Neo6 and an upcoming foldable device from Xiaomi will be among the first smartphones to utilize Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 platform. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 is expected to be revealed third quarter of this year.
