realme GT Neo5 SE has been recently introduced in China, providing consumers an alternative to POCO F5 that is comparably competitive. You might think that POCO F5 hasn’t been unveiled yet, but POCO F5 will be a rebrand of Redmi Note 12 Turbo. So what we’re actually comparing is the GT Neo5 SE and the Note 12 Turbo.

realme GT Neo5 SE vs. POCO F5

Both devices are currently available in China, and despite they’re from separate manufacturers, they bear striking resemblances to each other. In fact, the pricing of both phones is same in China.

The only difference in price is in the 12GB+256GB variant, remaining variants are priced equally in China. The pricing is available at the end of the article.

Performance

Both the phones feature Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset that performs nearly as well as Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, one of the last year’s most powerful processors! The Geekbench results for both chipsets are shown below.

POCO F5 has LPDDR5 RAM and realme GT Neo5 SE has LPDDR5X RAM. Both phones can be purchased with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage, and as was already said, both models are equally priced. realme GT Neo5 SE boasts an advantage in terms of performance with its LPDDR5X RAM, but the difference in daily use may not be substantial. UFS 3.1 is present as storage unit on both.

Display & Design

The design is where the real differences start, both phones feature an impressive display. GT Neo5 SE comes in two different colors, while the POCO F5 comes in three. Here are the images of both phones.

realme GT Neo5 SE features a 6.74-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution (451 ppi). It has a refresh rate of 144 Hz and 2160 Hz PWM dimming. 1.5K resolution is not something that is used as standard, but we can say that it will be sharper than a Full HD display. POCO F5‘s  6.67-inch OLED display has 120Hz refresh rate, 1920Hz PWM Dimming and it can render 12-bit color while realme GT Neo5 SE has a 10-bit display.

If your primary interest is gaming, then realme GT Neo5 SE might be the better option, whereas if you value more vivid and accurate colors, POCO F5 could be for you. Comparing the two phones next to each other, it becomes apparent that the POCO F5 boasts thinner display bezels. POCO F5 appears more appealing due to its gently smaller display and thinner bezels.

Neither phone has an SD card slot, but it is not a concern since the base variant of both phones features 256 GB storage. realme GT Neo5 SE lacks a headphone jack, while POCO F5 has one. Unquestionably, POCO F5 is significantly more compact in comparison to realme GT Neo5 SE. POCO F5 has a weight of 181g and a thickness of 7.9mm, whereas realme GT Neo5 SE weighs 193.1g and is 8.95mm thick. realme GT Neo5 SE is bulkier due to the battery it packs.

Battery

POCO F5 has a 5000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging, while realme GT Neo5 SE has a 5500 mAh battery with whopping 100W fast charging. If you don’t care about the thickness of the phone, you can opt for realme GT Neo5 SE and enjoy 100W fast charging and an extra 500 mAh battery compared to POCO F5. Both phones run their own software and come with Android 13 installed out of the box.

realme claims that they are concerned with battery health as well and that the battery still has more than 80% life after 1600 complete charging cycles. Thickness of the phone is actually quite reasonable since it offers 100W charging and a massive 5500 mAh battery.

Camera

While both phones aim to deliver impressive display and performance, neither of the phones are considered flagship devices and feature a relatively basic camera configuration. POCO F5 features 64 MP main camera with OIS, 8 MP ultra wide angle camera and 2 MP macro camera.

realme GT Neo5 SE comes with 64 MP main camera, 8 MP ultra wide angle camera and 2 MP microscope camera. None of the cameras feature OIS.
