OnePlus 12 to be the first to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, launching late this year.

Render images and some other specifications of OnePlus 12 were already leaked and a recent leak indicates that OnePlus 12 will feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU.

OnePlus 12 to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

With the significant performance and efficiency enhancements seen in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the introduction of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has generated considerable expectation. The new Gen 3 is expected to deliver a substantial performance upgrade over Gen 2.

The most powerful OnePlus phone to date is OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, equipped with 24 GB of RAM and powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. OnePlus 12 will take the lead in performance once it’s been released with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. A recent post by DCS indicates that OnePlus 12 will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and might be unveiled towards the end of this year. OnePlus 12 is poised to be a true flagship.

Some specs of OnePlus 12 were leaked earlier but what we didn’t know at that time is the chipset it will offer; it seems OnePlus 12 will boast the latest Gen 3 chipset as DCS reveals on Weibo.

OnePlus 12 was rumored to feature a 6.7-inch 2K 120Hz AMOLED display. The phone will have a UFS 4.0 storage unit and LPDDR5X RAM. Additionally, OnePlus plans to release a ground-breaking battery system this year, surpassing the 5000 mAh capacity of batteries we’ve been getting on flagship models. OnePlus 12 will come with 5400 mAh battery and 100W fast charging, that’s same charging speed as OnePlus 11 and with 8% more capacity

Render images of OnePlus 12 reveal a triple camera setup in earlier leaked images. A 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 3X telephoto camera, and a 1/1.4″ sensor sized main camera will make up this camera system.

OnePlus 12’s 5400 mAh battery, 100W fast charging, and the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset make it an intriguing flagship device even though its camera system may not be the best in class. OnePlus 12 is quite likely to be the first device to sport Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
