The upgraded Xiaomi 17 Series models would benefit from an overhaul in terms of camera software, with Xiaomi Camera Product Manager Bao Li announcing on the Weibo micro-blogging site that the devices would undergo an extensive technology update in their camera software with the addition of a new “preset management page” in HyperOS 3, scheduled to start at the end of October.
The new preset management UI is replacing the former swipe-view preset management UI. Instead of swiping the screen to the left to access parameter presets, one can now hold the “C0” button that is positioned side by side with the shutter button. The new preset management access maintains “camera-like operation habits” that were preferred by professionals in the field of photography.
Improved Preset Management Experience
The new interface provides users with the ability to arrange, remove, and manage a total of 50 parameter presets for professional shots. The parameter preset has features such as LUT previews, parameter values, and the quick apply key for ease of access and provision of information to the user. The user can further **create new presets right from the corner of the management panel.
At the same time, Xiaomi has integrated a preset transfer feature with enhanced flexibility because it now supports “batch import and export.” The preset settings on the smartphone can be transferred to other devices by “compressing files” or “scanning the QR code associated with the official ‘Ready Now’ preset pack.” Such an aspect can greatly benefit content creators who wish to apply identical camera settings to different Xiaomi devices.
Rollout Schedule
The new camera preset features would be rolled out to the Xiaomi 17 Series towards the end of October 2025, while full access to the new features would take place by mid-November. The Redmi K90 Series, known as the POCO F7 Ultra Internationally, would access the feature via an OTA update in due course, while other supported devices would access the feature via monthly HyperOS 3 updates, which can be checked either via Update Logs pages or via HyperOSUpdates.com.
If you would rather not miss out on the latest updates for the apps on your system, you can download the MemeOS Enhancer application from the Play Store. It provides you with the option to unlock hidden features of Xiaomi, HyperOS updates, and to update apps from the screen itself.
