Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 will have new “Enhanced Protection” feature

Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 is to release officially in October 2024. It will arrive with numerous new features and enhancements aimed at improving the user experience and security of the devices. Among them all, “Enhanced Protection” stands out, being tailored to set a new bar in safeguarding your device against possible threats.

What is “Enhanced Protection”?

The “Enhanced Protection” feature is actually the new security measure to be integrated into the system, which means that only the applications vetted by the Xiaomi App Store will make their way to your device. In this way, it effectively blocks the installation of any apps that could pose a risk, like those containing viruses or other security threats.

Key Benefits of Enhanced Protection

With Enhanced Protection, it could potentially help protect one from malware and bad apps by restricting app installations to only those tested and approved in the Xiaomi App Store.

Reduced risk of viruses and other security issues since the system itself automatically blocks unverified apps from installing. Seamless Experience: Enhanced Protection gives the most seamless experience in which the user doesn’t need to doubt downloading an application, as the installed ones have already passed Xiaomi’s security criteria.

How will improved protection work?

Once enabled, Enhanced Protection will block all installations of apps that have not been tested on the Xiaomi App Store to ensure only secure and validated apps can be installed on your device, reducing any potential risk due to unverified software.

Availability

“Enhanced Protection” is available on latest Xiaomi Package Installer but it will be available on every HyperOS 2.0 update when goes live in October 2024 and represents the latest in a line of improvements regarding user security from Xiaomi. Features like this, for one to populate all users, will have immense value in terms of improving device safety. Watch for further updates as HyperOS 2.0 nears the release date, and get ready to enjoy enhanced security with a new feature called “Enhanced Protection”.
