Several convoluted features are reportedly going to be packed in by Xiaomi with its upcoming HyperOS 2.0, which will significantly enhance the user experience. First beta update of Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 launcher is released
iOS-Style Recent Apps Panel
One of the most awaited features is the iOS style recent apps panel that users have been waiting for since MIUI 12. It was teased by Xiaomi three months ago via a survey. This new panel of recent apps will imitate the smoothness and minimalistic design from iOS, becoming one of the faves due to easy navigation and slim design.
Expanded Extra RAM Capabilities
Performance optimization will reach a completely new dimension with the enhancement of extra available RAM through HyperOS 2.0. Every user will get a minimum of 6 GB extra RAM and can stretch it up to a maximum of 16 GB in the Beta version of HyperOS 2.0. This itself is quite an improvement from the previous limits, which used to be a minimum of 4 GB and a maximum of 8 GB—thereby providing scope for more heavyweight multitasking and smoother functioning across multiple applications.
Comprehensive Update Rollout
The release of HyperOS 2.0 will come with all devices updated to Android 14, although most will be based on Android 15. Devices not eligible for the Android 15 update but having the update to Android 14 will get a HyperOS 2.0 version based on Android 14.
Xiaomi devices that are planned to get the Android 15 update shall simply be upgraded to HyperOS 2.0 on Android 15, promising seamless transitions and device requirement optimization across both spectrums.
A More Rigorous Beta Testing Process
HyperOS 2.0 shall be based on a new beta testing procedure, which is more professional and detailed in order to come up with an accurate and quicker test phase. In this case, beta testers shall be carefully selected, the bugs reported shall be checked, and the access to the software since its beta version shall be given to highly motivated users who would really exhibit interest.
This shall increase the effectiveness of the beta phase and thereby reduce the time taken in fixing bugs.
Introduction of LROFS
Accompanying and powerfully hitting HyperOS 2.0 are some of the most striking technical improvements, among which one will be the Lightweight Read-Only File System, otherwise referred to as LROFS. The aftereffect will beseen to be more effective than EXT4 and EROFS in higher parameters of performance. Here are some salient advantages of LROFS:
- Better Compression: LROFS uses a superior algorithm that really reduces the amount of space used by system files, thus potentially allowing faster read speeds and better storage optimization on devices that have limited space.
- Improved Performance: Preliminary reports indicate a boost in overall system performance, as LROFS cuts down on the times for file access and reads. This is very important to applications that require fast access to vast amounts of data, like high-performance games or professional photographic applications.
- Read-Only: Because it’s read-only, LROFS improves security and integrity by preventing unauthorized changes to system files and hence offers better security to users.
- Future-Proofing: In the rapid acceleration of the technological environment, LROFS is supposed to be flexible and effective for supporting new applications that would want more from the system—itself including future updates.
Enhanced AI features
HyperOS 2.0 shall provide users with an extended earlier usage exposure across sundry applications, coupled with enriched AI capabilities at the gallery, calls, and messaging. These improvements will eventually make interactions with the device wiser and more responsive to ensure a finer user experience.
HyperOS Gallery Editor new update brings AI Editor 2.0 feature
Much is coming for Xiaomi with HyperOS 2.0, particularly looking at improved multitasking capabilities, an all-inclusive update rollout, a much rigorous beta testing course, LROFS, and advanced AI features. As users get ready to have it this October with the Xiaomi 15 series, a host of improvements await to give users new ease in interacting with their devices. There’s a lot coming your way with this update—keep an eye!
I like it, it was already good, I think it will be much better, congratulations 👏
My device is a POCO X6 PRO 12/512 GLOBAL 1.0.9.0.UNLMIXM, in my humble opinion one of the best POCO devices made by XIAOME and I’m just waiting for the new HyperOS 2.0 to come out.
Looks that there will be excellent change ,but would be great if add a call recording option as it is useful at some occasions to listen the recorded call again to recall names, procedures or some important informations, when someone is unable to memorize while on live call ,like when there noise in the surroundings, while driving a car. If there is a problem with Google rules, then request google management to release an agreement for end users regarding call recording.
This is a suggestion from my side.

Xiaomi note 10 Android 15 update not eligible not possible update problem
I am using Xiaomi 13t pro operating sys hyper 1.6 and I am shifted from OnePlus 11 for improvement or reliable. Unfortunately very bad experience many bugs with Bluetooth with wifi very limited software like gallery and many more.
Unfortunately I am disappointed.
Well I’m using Redmi 12 5g
And it’s the best budget phone I’m using with a lot of features that Samsung and Iphone doesn’t
Well it performance goes best in COD warzone mobile like 90 fps. Crazy and it has the best Snapdragon chip I’m using ever. Now it’s ecosystem is very best but one. Now Xiaomi is getting best in involving in the OS the ecosystem and other stuff.
Great job 👍🏻
I have an Redmi Note 13 pro 4G. Will I get the new hyper os 2.0. I am loving the version 1 so far
Will it come to the redmi note 11 pro?
I have poco m4 pro 5g hyperos 2.0 I will not receive update
Redmi Note 12 pro 5g is a relatively fresh phone, yet it doesn’t get HyperOs 2.0 ? I am sad.
Will it come in Xiaomi 14 civi devices dynamic island update posible in future?
It is ridiculous that Redmi Note 11 Pro did not receive the hyperos 2.0 update. It should have received Android 14, but it did not. It should have received Android 15 but it will not receive it. Since it will not receive Android 15 and Android 14, Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G will receive hyperos 2.0. They should bring the update based on Android 13 just like the HyperOS 1.0 version.
Redmi 9e has not been updated yet
My device Poco x 5 pro 8/256 India

I am facing heating issue . My phone is redmi note 12 4g and os version is hyperOS 1.0.9.0
Emergency I need a solution.
Still I am facing the overheating issue.
MIUI 14 was far better than hyperos.
Not others UI. I have said about just MIUI 14
Good afternoon, I have a redmi note 13 pro plus, and I have not even gotten any existing update, bad with that I see in a very very distant future that comes to chile hyperos 2. 0, all this is an advertisement to buy more Xiaomi cell phones nothing more, imagine a year from now how many teams will sell with this misleading advertising, all wrong here in chile do not even have an exclusive technical service, take it for several problems that the team has and told me only that he had entered a hair, and has no IP68 certification, bad plus support is 2 years, you will say and for what you bought it, unfortunately I let myself be guided by advertising, as they compare it with teams range to as the Samsung S24
Too bad my Poco X4 Pro was left behind. HyperOS 1 is good buy I think it can handle more.
For when all these improvements for the Poco, because they forget about them, thank you, greetings.
Well, well, well… I can’t wait for the new AI features to come out… That’s all I want right now. I have a POCO X6 PRO and it’s powerful enough, but it needs more AI features that can improve its camera or photography…
Good
How about fixing up the current Hyper OS
(!) can’t add different sounds (Mp3) to different Contacts
(2) can’t add separate photos of contacts inro Favourites without them over writing the first , they load one one top of each other.
(3) When you try and add a Mp3 to a particular person it puts a completely different person into contact ring tones not the one you selected to get the Mp3
(4) when trying to use the MiRemote it will not work with any Chinese Hisense TV’s Smart or otherwise trying all 14 frequencies.
(5) a lot of the menu setups, options have such long and convoluted paths and options that it becomes a night mare trying to work out how to set up options or even change them. one example being trying to work out wher the settings option is in the Music APP is , turns out it is two circles with bars throught the centers facing each other who woud have thought that this icon or sign would inicate you settings options when most others are three verticle dots or a hexagon.
Any way coming from a Huawei Pro 10 on Android 10 to a Xiaomi 14 5G on their version of Android 14 has not been easy to say the least.
