Wang Teng, the deputy general manager of Xiaomi China’s marketing department and general manager of the REDMI brand, made an interesting update in the form of a video. According to him, Xiaomi has “one last assignment” to deliver this month, and he teased fans with the keyword “Little Tornado”. A Nod to the Turbo Series Mention of “Little Tornado” seems to be pointing at the REDMI Turbo 4 from Xiaomi, considering previous reports pointed to that codename fitting the device.
Earlier this year, Xiaomi launched the REDMI Turbo 3, touted as a strong mid-range option, and its successor is expected to be no different.
Anticipated Specification of REDMI Turbo 4
According to leaks from leading blogger @Digital Chat Station the REDMI Turbo 4 might make its way with the incorporation of:
- Battery: 6500mAh for extended performance
- Display: 1.5K LTPS narrow-edge flat panel with eye-protection technology
- Build: Glass body with a plastic middle frame
- Biometrics: Short-focus optical fingerprint scanner
- Camera: Dual camera 50MP on the upper left.
- Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 8 series platform
REDMI’s Strategic Positioning
Wang Teng once called the new K series “champion flagships,” but with a greater emphasis on the Pro models for all-round flagship experiences. As the price of Xiaomi’s mainline series edges up, the Turbo series will be positioned to dominate the 2,000–3,000 yuan price range, making it attractive to value-conscious consumers who don’t want to compromise on performance.
Likely Announcement in December
Although Wang Teng did not release the exact date of the launch, it is pretty much evident that the REDMI Turbo 4 will mark the final major announcement for Xiaomi this December. Indeed, the brand’s fans can expect a fully loaded device that is aimed at both performance enthusiasts and budget-conscious buyers. This upcoming release reinforces Xiaomi’s strategy of diversifying its lineup while maintaining competitive pricing across various market segments.
We don’t care we all wait for HyoerOS 2.0 but it’s being an eternity to have just a beta update…
Maybe Xiaomi should update the current models instead of launching a new one!
No bootloader unlocking, no Xiaomi and no hyperOS.
Not that other brands are making things much easier, but the Xiaomi modding community is huge, turning down so many customers all in one go is disappointing.
Global customers too are going through hell as everything is made intentionally to make things impossible. Why couldn’t Xiaomi just add a box to tick on Mi-Unlock; do you live in China? Yes=no unlocking, No=proceed to normal unlocking.
