Xiaomi’s global smartphone shipments rise 2% in Q3 2025 report

Xiaomi’s global presence is getting stronger, and the numbers back it up. Latest data from CounterPoint Research shows global smartphone shipments grew 4% year-on-year in Q3 2025. Much of this rebound is driven by robust demand in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East & Africa regions.

Xiaomi held its ground as the world’s third largest smartphone maker, recording a 2% year-on-year increase in shipments and claiming a solid 14% share of the global market. That’s significant, considering how competitive the space is. Their success in emerging markets hinges on a diverse mid-range lineup—think Redmi Note and POCO—plus expanding offline retail partnerships, which continue to be a smart play in these regions.

  • India stands out as a key growth engine, posting a 9% rise in smartphone shipments. Early festive season demand and government incentives boosted consumer confidence, and Xiaomi capitalized with strong sales, especially in the value and mid-tier categories.
  • On the global stage, Samsung remains the market leader with a 19% share and a 6% year-on-year boost, while Apple saw a 9% increase in shipments, driven by high demand for the iPhone 17 in markets like Japan, China, and Western Europe.
  • OPPO and vivo complete the top five. OPPO saw modest growth through affordable 5G devices, and vivo expanded its presence in India and Southeast Asia. Both brands continue to benefit from localized marketing and distribution strategies.

Xiaomi’s ongoing performance is a testament to its balanced strategy—innovating while keeping products accessible and affordable. This approach keeps Xiaomi competitive and well-positioned for future growth, especially as it pushes further into smart ecosystems and new software initiatives like HyperOS.
