What’s Included in the April 2025 Security Patch
The April 2025 update fixes a wide range of vulnerabilities, prioritizing especially critical ones that may threaten device security. Four of this month’s critical vulnerabilities include:
- CVE-2025-22429
- CVE-2025-26416
- CVE-2025-22423
- CVE-2024-45551
In addition to this, the update resolves 36 vulnerabilities that are of high severity if devices remain exposed to them. These high-severity vulnerabilities are:

- Media frameworks abuse
- Kernel component weaknesses
- Device-specific code vulnerabilities
Key Vulnerability Details
Among the most critical patches is that of CVE-2025-22429, which had the potential to allow remote attackers to run arbitrary code with administrative privileges. Of particular note was that the vulnerability had the potential to be exploited without any high level of user interaction.
The patch also fixes CVE-2025-26416, which introduced a privilege escalation risk that granted attackers system-level access to the impacted devices.
