Xiaomi YU7 SUV spotted again: Unique bracket-shaped turn signal

While the second model, the YU7 SUV, is making a big buzz in front of its official launch in June 2025, Xiaomi’s automotive ambitions are in full swing. Recently, a spy photo of a YU7 SUV prototype labeled “029” gave enthusiasts a little more insight into the design and features of this highly awaited vehicle.

Distinctive Exterior Features

New images show for the first time the daytime running lights of the YU7 featuring a cross-shaped internal design. The creative light setting is boosting the distinctive identity of the car, which is ensuring high recognizability on the road. The turn signals, which had not been captured in previous leaks, are in a bracket-shaped design and have a rather compact form factor. Well-hidden at both extremities of the through-type taillights, the turn signals exude a subtle yet modern aesthetic. The lack of a roof radar system on this prototype would suggest the standard model will employ some sort of roofless, vision-based solution for its intelligent driving.

Grand Coupe SUV Styling

From its side view, the YU7 SUV sports some seriously striking Coupe-inspired Fastback Silhouette. The roofline swoops down from the B-pillar, making the car aerodynamic in structure yet grand in appearance. The small side windows are further contrasted by wide door panels, adding up to a bold stance.

Rear-End Details

In these spy shots, the Saturn ring-shaped taillights-a signature element of Xiaomi automotive design-were not lit. On the flip side, the three-section brake lights-one above the rear windshield and one at either side of the tailgate-got quite prominent when the vehicle slowed down.
