Xiaomi’s highly anticipated electric SUV, the Xiaomi YU7, has surfaced online, revealing a bold and sporty design with abundant aerodynamic elements. The new SUV is expected to be officially revealed in June or July 2025, as Xiaomi increases its presence in the EV market. With an overall length of 4999mm, width of 1996mm, and height of up to 1608mm, the YU7 is a mid-to-large SUV. With a 3000mm wheelbase, it is expected to provide a spacious and comfortable interior, on par with other premium electric SUVs.
Dynamic Exterior with Advanced Aerodynamics
The Xiaomi YU7 features a highly aerodynamic front-end, with the intent of minimizing drag and maximizing efficiency. The sculpted hood features real air ducts that channel airflow properly, enhancing both performance and aesthetics. The headlight cluster, which is different from the Xiaomi SU7, features a unique cross-shaped daytime running light pattern, with the lower portion housing dual LED lamps. The front bumper also features large heat dissipation vents, giving the vehicle a bold, aggressive stance. The roof-mounted LiDAR setup hints at the SUV featuring advanced autonomous driving capabilities.
Sleek Side Profile and Sporty Rear Design
On the sides, the YU7 has flush door handles, a panoramic glass roof, and low-drag aerodynamic wheels with Hankook tires. The charging port is positioned at the rear-left side for convenience.
At the back, the Xiaomi YU7 has a transparent taillight cover and a U-shaped taillight design. The rear spoiler setup is particularly notable, with a dual-layer design capped by an additional wing atop the rear windshield. The rear bumper has aggressive aerodynamic elements, including ventilation ducts that further enhance stability at high speeds. Multiple cameras are also present on the rear windshield and bumper, which are probably part of Xiaomi’s advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS).
Modern and Minimalist Interior
Though the interior details are not disclosed, leaked images suggest that the Xiaomi YU7 will feature a full-width digital display, which will integrate the instrument panel, navigation, and infotainment system. The three-spoke steering wheel and large central touchscreen are also among the futuristic design. Xiaomi has also opted for a button-less center console, which cleans up the cabin’s appearance while improving usability.
Powerful All-Electric Performance
The Xiaomi YU7 will be available in single-motor and dual-motor versions. The dual-motor AWD version will have a total output of 508kW (691hp), allowing a top speed of 253km/h. The rear-wheel-drive version will have an output of 235kW, with speeds of 240km/h. The AWD version will be fitted with a ternary lithium battery, while the RWD version will have a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.
With its cutting-edge features, aerodynamic design, and powerful electric powertrain, the Xiaomi YU7 is set to be a game-changer in the electric SUV segment.
