Emir BardakçıGoogle has finally released the critical February 2026 security patch changelog. While some Xiaomi devices already received February 2026 security update, others Xiaomi users will have to wait until early March due to the Chinese New Year Festival holiday.
What’s fixed with the February 2026 Security Patch?
This update fixes CVE-2026-0106 vulnerability in the Android VPU (Video Processing Unit) driver. This vulnerability allows applications to infiltrate the device’s kernel memory and gain root permissions without the user’s knowledge. You don’t need to click on any link for the attacker to take control of your device; an installed virus app is enough.
This problem will only be resolved after 15 days
The Xiaomi team is celebrates Chinese New Year between February 12 to March 3. The HyperOS development is paused during this time. So; Xiaomi, REDMI, and POCO devices are currently have this critical vulnerability. The February 2026 security patch will begin rolling out in the first week of March after the vacation.
What should you do until the update arrives?
Until your device receives the patch (approximately 3 weeks), you must comply with the following rules:
- Never Download APKs: Don’t download and install APK files from unknown websites.
- Only Play Store: Only download trusted applications from the Google Play Store.
- Wait: Follow the February 2026 security update rollout via MemeOS Enhancer to get it early and install it as soon as it arrives.
