Xiaomi unveils first PC-like Android tablet

Xiaomi has just announced the Pad 7S Pro at its “Lu Weibing Live Chats about Xiaomi New Products” event, setting a new benchmark for Android tablets targeting professional users. This launch marks Xiaomi’s first serious push into the PC-like tablet space, powered by the company’s proprietary XRING O1 chip. The chip, engineered in-house, delivers robust performance with ultra-low 2ms latency, ensuring seamless multitasking and responsiveness for demanding business applications. For users seeking to optimize their workflow further, the Pad 7S Pro supports the MemeOS Enhancer app, available via the Play Store, which unlocks additional productivity features.

Advanced XRING O1 Chip Powers Productivity

The centerpiece of the Pad 7S Pro is the sophisticated XRING O1 chip. Designed specifically for high-efficiency tablet computing, this processor features an integrated microcontroller that enables smooth multitasking and consistent performance, even during intensive workloads. During a live demonstration, Xiaomi showcased the device running a resource-intensive open world game at full frame rates, highlighting its capability to handle both work and high-end entertainment without compromise.

High-Performance 12.5-Inch Display

The tablet features a 3.2K, 308 PPI LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, delivering crisp visuals and smooth transitions. Comprehensive eye protection, multiple display certifications, and optional nano soft light screen technology ensure comfort and reliability for extended business use.

All-Day Battery & Rapid Charging

Equipped with a 10,610mAh battery and industry-leading 120W fast charging, the Pad 7S Pro supports uninterrupted productivity throughout the day and rapid power replenishment when needed.

Enterprise-Grade Functionality

Professional Camera & Audio

A 50MP rear camera is optimized for document and whiteboard capture, while a 32MP front camera supports high-quality video conferencing. The four-microphone array delivers clear audio in various meeting scenarios.

To be a laptop replacement, Xiaomi should consider two screen variants, a standard 12.5″, and probably an Ultra 15-16″, including complete accessories such as keyboard, mouse, pen and even a connectivity docking station.
