Now, it seems like Xioami is officially set to turn up the notch for providing monthly updates on their smartphones come 2025, quite a twist in their usual software update strategy. As reportedly revealed in an interaction by Alvin Tse, Global Vice President at Xiaomi, in a recent tweet thread on X.
A Step Towards Consistency
The move will help Xiaomi streamline its software update mechanism to ensure the company’s users around the world get updates on a more predictable schedule. Though Xiaomi is already releasing periodic updates, this new move looks forward to predictable monthly improvements. However, key specifics—like whether all devices will get these updates or only certain series—remain under wraps.
HyperOS 2.0 Rollout in India
He also spoke about the delayed rollout of HyperOS 2.0 in India. While he confirmed that a roadmap is in the works, he did not go so far as to provide a timeline. He said that the unique testing requirements of India and regional camera optimizations are different from global standards, hence these have caused delays in releasing the updates to the Indian market. The reason for this is due to the fact that there are several regional standards and preferences which need to be catered to for a better experience of Indian users.
What to Expect in 2025
As Xiaomi institutes these changes:
- Monthly Updates: Updates are more frequent, which include security patches, bug fixes, and sometimes feature enhancements.
- Better Global Coordination: Xiaomi aims to align the cadence of updates across regions while considering local customizations.
- Focus on User Experience: Emphasizing frequent refreshes, Xiaomi aims at helping the devices last longer in order to increase user satisfaction.
Insights and Anticipation
This is Xiaomi’s new focus on reliability for software and consumer experience as 2024 draws to a close. Though the company is still working on a more specific timeline with respect to the HyperOS 2.0 update cycle, expect more details soon. For Indian users, the delay in receiving HyperOS 2.0 is one sure thing that proves how Xiaomi has been working day and night to fine-tune its software for the local requirements to offer a better experience when the updates roll out.

Xiaomi, where is the global Hyperos 2???
My phone redmi note 13 pro 5G is overall good and it’s doing smooth. Thanks to the company for making this master piece. One thing I want the company to improve is it’s camera. Too bright objects are blurry when taken a shot. The camera quality really needs an update. I love nature shootings but the camera don’t likes it at all. Please do the needful.
HyperOS is brilliant…The leap from MIUI to HyperOS is just Awesome..
1. However, there are much to improve…. Performance improvements are needed..Like with the same CPU other phones bench scores are higher than Xiaomi phones…
2. Always on display automatically hides itself even when it is kept always on settings or Scheduled settings…
3. While surfing Instagram the brightness of the screen is automatically decreases to the lowest even when the main auto brightness is turned off.. it happens every time while surfing the Instagram app…
4. Smoothness is very nice…Awesome..Kudos to the Development team..
5. Also like to add that the Camera app is preety awesome but also need some more polishing…You have great hardware in your devices but there is some disconnection between the software and hardware…..Rest all is great… Also a Xiaomi AI would have been great..
