At a recent development, Xiaomi Auto announced the intelligent parking assistance system of the Xiaomi SU7 received a cool upgrade: the “mechanical parking space” function conducts ultra-narrow mechanical storage space parking with only 5 cm on one side of the vehicle.
This update is based on the more than 200 types of parking spaces supported by SU7, including side parking and ultra-narrow parking spots. In the face of such broad coverage, Xiaomi developed a complex end-to-end mechanical storage space parking algorithm-integrating real-time perception and decision-making by using information from up to 11 cameras. In a virtual simulation of human-eye perception, it ensures precise adjustment and early warning in parking with 1 cm accuracy within the storage space.
The new feature will enable drivers to rely on the smart system of SU7, which is capable of parking safely into narrow mechanical spaces that drivers aren’t able to undertake with the traditional parking systems. This raises overall efficiency and is soon going to be available as an OTA update.
The development places Xiaomi’s autonomous driving capability in a leading position in the intelligent vehicle sector.
