Xiaomi SU7 hits 100,000 units in record time

Xiaomi seems to be at some interesting odioles with its electric vehicle, the Xiaomi SU7. Founder and CEO Lei Jun just announced that 100,000 units of the SU7 have been produced, setting a record 230 days since its release and being hailed as the fastest production ramp-up for any new car company. It is looking at delivering 120,000 units by year-end and expanding capacity in its factory on growing demand.

It sold 20,726 units in a single October and it also went straight to the top of the sales rankings among new energy sedans, above 200,000 yuan-priced sedans, and medium-to-large pure electric sedans. Such high demand for production has driven Xiaomi’s capacity utilization rate to 160%, and most probably, the firm will go over the annual target of 100,000 units ahead of time.

Xiaomi will showcase the SU7 and the SU7 Ultra for the first time to the public when the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show runs from November 15 to November 24. The exhibition also contains nine color options for the SU7, which attracted attention from both the media and the public.
