The famous tech blogger @DCS revealed that MediaTek’s newest chip, the Dimensity 9400 SoC, is ready with a beastly X925 super-core clocked in at 3.626GHz. This monster will finally rest in the smartphones from industry giants like OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi, promising leading-edge performance.
Key Specifications of Dimensity 9400
With a multi-core architecture, the Dimensity 9400 chip is in position to stir things up. The reported makeup of such a powerful SoC lists:
- 1 Cortex-X925 super core running at 3.626GHz
- 3 Cortex-X4 large cores running at 2.80GHz
- 4 Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.10GHz
- Mali-G925 Immortalis MC12 GPU @ 1612MHz
This GPU configuration promises very important graphical improvements and is also part of the package bought by the companies OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi.
Unmatched Memory Speed and Performance
In addition to CPU and GPU specifications, the Dimensity 9400 will also have the world’s first and fastest 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X memory installed to ensure even quicker data processing and smoother multitasking capability. Such a high-caliber memory setup indeed promises better performance for AI processing, gaming, and video editing by users.
Benchmarks and performance metrics
Already, benchmark data is out to illustrate how capable the Dimensity 9400 is. A leak of some Geekbench 6 scores in September showed the chip running for:
- 3010 single-core score
- 9124 multi-core score
It also set a new standard for Android smartphones in the AnTuTu benchmark, scoring more than 3.03 million points with the OPPO Find X8 Pro Satellite Communication Edition powered by Dimensity 9400.
Launch Date and Devices Expected
The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 will be officially launched on October 9, 2024, positioned under the slogan “AI Chip Leap,” which means an enhanced AI processing power. This powerful SoC will be integrated by Xiaomi into the next Redmi K80 Ultra and will surely come for other manufacturers such as OPPO and vivo in their subsequent flagships. The Dimensity 9400 will let Xiaomi and others drive the next-generation mobile performance to users worldwide, marking an important milestone in smartphone technologies.
The fact that OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi are all prepared to use this SoC just means users get more speed, more efficiency, and more AI capabilities in flagship devices than ever before. With the launch date getting closer, it only builds anticipation for the high performance of the Dimensity 9400. This chip represents a quantum leap in mobile engineering, and we are excited to see how it’s going to change the landscape of Android smartphones.
The performance gain of DM9400 is still questionable compared to DM9300 series as they just changed the 1 main Prime core from X4 to the new X925 core, the 3 remaining prime cores are still the same X4 from DM9300.
And, the sustained performance of DM9300 is really ugly at 40-44% only compared to 8Gen3’s 70%+ stability.
The reason being the X cores are only meant to be used as 1 or 2 Prime cores in a mobile chip. Any device with 4 of them will surely overheat lol
