Xiaomi has just rolled out an update to the software on the Xiaomi Mi 11 (China), despite having ended the life cycle of this device over a year ago. This update, titled OS2.0.6.0.UKBCNXM, comes with the operating system of Android 14 and was released on December 21, 2025.
According to the changelog, this particular release has emphasized eliminating bugs that happened in some usage patterns. In fact, this particular release has not included new features, but it has greatly improved system stability, showing that Xiaomi still values their users’ experience, including for those that are already EOL.
What makes this update more noteworthy is the timing. Xiaomi Mi 11’s update support ended on December 1, 2024; hence this update is quite rare as it comes after the end-of-life phase of the device. Not many devices get such post-life upgrades in the Android world. It’s good that Xiaomi is committed to fixing problems even after supporting the device has ended.
It’s worth mentioning that the beta update is exclusively available for the China ROM. But nonetheless, it is a reassuring message for loyal fans of the Mi 11 series and it further enhances the image of Xiaomi when it comes to looking after the software of its devices even years later.
This unsolicited upgrade comes as a refreshing treat for those Mi 11 users in China, since it is an upgrade for the device despite the Mi 11 having been discontinued.
