Xiaomi releases HyperOS 3 Beta for 2-year-old devices

Xiaomi has officially begun the HyperOS 3 Beta rollout for several devices — some of which were launched nearly two years ago. This is a massive step for Xiaomi and the company’s dedication to long-term software support. The Beta update is already limited to China, but the global launch will be taking place later this month, bringing new AI-enabled features, a refreshed interface, and improved system performance to millions of users.

Devices Receiving HyperOS 3 Beta

Xiaomi’s testing phase covers a diverse set of smartphones and tablets, many of which belong to the Redmi K70 and Xiaomi Pad lineups. Below are the devices and corresponding Beta build versions currently available in China:

  • Redmi K70E – OS 3.0.0.9 BETA
  • Redmi K70 – OS 3.0.0.10 BETA
  • Redmi K70 Pro – OS 3.0.0.8 BETA
  • Redmi K70 Ultra – OS 3.0.0.8 BETA
  • Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro – OS 3.0.0.5 BETA
  • Xiaomi MIX Flip – OS 3.0.0.8 BETA

Although these packages are meant for Chinese users, worldwide owners can expect HyperOS 3 Global Beta to come in weeks.

What’s New in HyperOS 3

HyperOS 3 unveils a holistic set of design and performance updates to create a more seamless and integrated ecosystem. The upgrade brings with it several key improvements:

  • New icons and status bar design, including redesigned battery and signal indicators.
  • HyperIsland, Xiaomi’s take on Apple’s Dynamic Island, offering interactive notifications.
  • AI-powered features such as AI Notes, AI Voice Translation, and AI Search.
  • Gallery AI Photo Search and AI Dynamic Wallpapers, now supported globally.
  • Seamless device integration across Xiaomi smartphones, tablets, and laptops — similar to Apple’s ecosystem.
  • Performance boost of up to 30%, with improved memory management and animations.

These additions reflect Xiaomi’s vision of intelligent connectivity, where users experience unified performance across all devices powered by Xiaomi HyperConnect technology.

Device Limitations

While most flagships and mid-range devices will receive full functionality, HyperIsland and certain AI features will not be available on tablets or lower mid-range phones due to hardware constraints. Xiaomi also has plans to gradually ramp these features for broader compatibility in future releases.

How to Prepare for the Update

Before the impending release of HyperOS 3 Global, users are recommended to pre-update all system applications. This can simply be done through the MemeOS Enhancer app, available on the Play Store. The app also allows users to activate hidden Xiaomi features, update HyperOS, and turn on advanced system settings before the OTA update.
