Xiaomi released MIX Fold 4 with the latest foldable screen technology

Tonight, Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO, unveiled one of the most awaited products—the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4—in a press conference. It represents real innovation in foldable smartphones. Mixing Fold 4 is available in three configurations: 12+256GB for 8,999 yuan (1237$), 16+512GB for 9,999 yuan (1375$), and 10,999 yuan (1413$) for the top version of 16+1TB.

Sleek Design and Build

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 is well-designed—only 226 grams in weight and, when unfolded, 4.59mm in thickness on one side. In the folded state, it remains slim at a thickness of 9.47mm. The metal middle frame features a four-micro-curved body design, all of which contributes to its ergonomic feel. It also adds a new color, “Gentian Blue,” for the MIX Fold 4.

Advanced Engineering and Durability

It has innovatively engineered the Mix Fold 4 with a three-layer and five-sided three-dimensional motherboard. This unprecedented design holds 2,545 components, which is 2.3 times compared to its previous generation, and reduces the length of the motherboard to offer more space to hold a larger battery. In addition, the MIX Fold 4 features a comprehensive carbon fiber structure that has applied T800H high-strength carbon fiber. The advanced material enhances the resilience of phone impacts by 300%, ensuring durability.

Revolutionary hinge mechanism At the heart of MIX Fold 4 comes the Xiaomi Keel Hinge 2.0. With a three-stage connecting rod structure and 12 teeth, this emulates an ultra-fine droplet of water, slashing both its volume by 34% and weight by 16%. Aside from that, it features ultra-strong steel and over 500,000 folds in its life.

Powerful Performance

Under the hood, the MIX Fold 4 is powered by the third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 flagship platform, paired with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 flash storage. The device features an ultra-thin stainless steel VC heat sink and high-density graphite for efficient thermal management, with a total heat dissipation area of 11,912mm². Additionally, it incorporates four Pengpai T1 model enhanced chips and supports two-way satellite communication.

Stunning Display

The MIX Fold 4 is equipped with a variety of screens: it has an internal 7.98-inch and an external 6.56-inch screen. The internal LCD screen supports a resolution of 2488×2244, equity of 120Hz LTPO refresh rate, and comes with the Samsung E7 luminous material, making its peak brightness up to 3000 nits. The outside screen, of 2520×1080 resolution with a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate, used Huaxing C8+ luminous material, peaking its brightness at 3000 nits. Both screens are protected by robust glass. On the inner screen, it used UTG; on the outside, Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass.

Excellent Camera System

The MIX Fold 4 is bound to delight photography lovers, as it hosts a quad-camera setup from the Leica Summilux team: a Light Hunter 800 of 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50MP portrait upright telephoto lens, and a 10MP periscope telephoto lens. It also allows selfies to be taken with not one but two 20MP front cameras—one on the external screen and another on the internal screen.

Battery and Other Features

It holds a 5100mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery in three-dimensional special-shaped design, designed for foldable phones to enhance space utilization by 9%. According to Xiaomi, MIX Fold 4 can achieve up to 1.47 days of comprehensive DOU test duration.
