The devices last received the October 2025 security patch, and no new firmware, including HyperOS 2, has been issued over the past two months. Why Redmi 12C and POCO C55 Reached EOL
Xiaomi has well-documented update policies for its entry-level series. The Redmi 12C and POCO C55 were pitched as affordable smartphones created for basic daily usage, normally receiving shorter cycles of support.
Before reaching EOL, each device completed its standard update window with regular Android patches and HyperOS maintenance releases. This is a planned transition to enable Xiaomi to prioritize resources on newer models and ensure ongoing system stability across the ecosystem.

EOL does not automatically affect device functionality, and users may still experience adequate performance for daily tasks.
Looking Ahead: Xiaomi’s Budget Strategy
Xiaomi keeps expanding its affordable portfolio with devices offering progressively higher performance and longer support cycles. The organic retirement of devices such as the Redmi 12C and POCO C55 is part of the larger transition to the improved ecosystem provided by HyperOS and more optimized update distribution. You are LIARS, in the start of 2025 you reported that Redmi Note 12 4G Tapas would get HyperOS 3.0, even your HyperOS Downloader App claimed this(though claimed that the HyperOS 3.0 would be based on Android 15, not 16), I have articles and screenshots to prove this, and by that you allowed and enabled Xiaomi to sell more of the Redmi Note 12 4G Tapas they had in stock, devices that will never get HyperOS 3.0(Xiaomi Philippines has confirmed this to me).
2. Your HyperOS Downloader App, contains malware enabler, and can send phones into boot loop. Its not even your own App as you claim, but instead MemeOS 3.0 Enhancer from a thirdparty company. No one should use this App unless they are willing to factory reset their phone.
3. Before I knew about the problems with the Memeos 3.0 Enhancer App I downloaded it and had it check if my own Global Version of Redmi Note 12 4G Tapas would get HyperOS 3.0 and it were listed as it would but based on Android 15, and my phone would not get Android 16.
Newer version of the App now states that Redmi Note 12 4G Tapas will NOT get HyperOS 3.0.
I uninstalled the Memeos 3.0 Enhancer App when I read about serious problems, and immediately after I had problems with several Apps including Play store, and my own security App.
After scanning with anti virus and anti malware which found something left over by the Memeos App and removed it, my phone is working fully again. I scan on regular basis and only install Apps from Play store, I don’t know exactly how the Memeos App enables Malware, but I do know that when I uninstall the App it should be gone and not leave something behind that causes problems, and I am not talking about log files.
You simply can’t be trusted anymore!
