Xiaomi officially enters South Korea with Xiaomi 14T and Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G

Tianchi today has officially entered the South Korean market by launching an online store, introducing two key smartphone models: the Xiaomi 14T series and Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G. This aggressive move makes Xiaomi the first brand to enter Samsung’s home turf, one of the world’s most competitive smartphone markets.

Xiaomi 14T: Flagship with Leica Lens

It places the Xiaomi 14T series in a flagship category with some fancy specs, combined with an advanced signature Leica lens. The key specifications of the smartphone are below:

Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G: Performance on a Budget with an Upgraded Camera

For those looking for an affordable alternative, however, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G. Given that the position of the latter is even a class below Xiaomi 14T, one would note its respectable upgrades, most of all in its camera department. Key features include:

  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra
  • Display: 120Hz 1.5K eye-protection screen

Expanding the Ecosystem in South Korea

Beyond smartphones, the following products are listed on Xiaomi’s official Korean website:

  • POCO Smartphones
  • Redmi Tablets
  • Xiaomi Wearable Devices/Mi Bands
  • Xiaomi TVs
  • Xiaomi Cameras

The website also carries promotional notices for Xiaomi cars and robot dogs, but none of these products is currently available in South Korea.

Xiaomi’s Challenge in Samsung’s Stronghold

For Xiaomi, it was a very strategic move from entering South Korea to the major domination by Samsung or LG. By selling flagship-level handsets like Xiaomi 14T series at less costly prices than those of native Korean brands besides feature-rich models like the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G the brand is actually making its presence notice in the daunting market. What’s more, differentiating Xiaomi for the wide range of devices across its broad IoT and Smart Devices ecosystem may add strength to winning in South Korea. This launch signals Xiaomi’s ambition to compete not only in global markets but also in those traditionally dominated by local giants
