Xiaomi MIX Trifold possible design and satellite variant

Back in July, we also found a device under the code name “zhuque” from a Mi Code, speculating that it could be the upcoming Xiaomi MIX 5. We decided not to share that piece of speculation because since that time, it was really few concrete information.
The presence of the key term “zhuque,” which means a high-ranking deity in Chinese mythology, itself made us feel that this device will also fall into the premium MIX series. Our assumptions were supported when it was categorized under many other premium devices in the Mi Code.

New Developments and Leaks

This is further supported by the new finding in the Mi Code: it now seems that two versions of the zhuque device will be released—a “Satellite” version and a standard version. This seems to indicate that advanced satellite communication might indeed crop up in one model out there, following the trend in top-of-the-line smartphones lately

The Mi Code has also confirmed “zhuque” ought to be a button-less phone-it dug out the HyperOS framework where references to “Removebutton” codes were found. The design frees up the full front of the phone for the screen.

The device is related to two model numbers :

  • 2503FVPB1C
  • Z5031VP29C

This model number is most likely corresponding to the Satellite and normal versions of the phone, respectively. Also, the 25-03 in the model number indicates March 2025. The device could be introduced around March 2025. In fact, we discovered these model numbers starting with 2503 in October 2023, but we didn’t share them because we were still not sure.

Let’s remember the prototype of the trifold MIX phone Xiaomi introduced in 2018. This phone with model number U1 used the SDM845. There were no buttons on this phone. Perhaps the “zhuque” design will be similar to this one.

Details from Most Recent Leaks

As a report published by Smartprix yesterday, some more concrete details about this “zhuque” device were provided by a well-known leaker by the name of chunvn8888. According to his findings, many innovative features of the “zhuque” unfold the tale of a really revolutionary smartphone:

  • Buttonless design: There is a rumor that “zhuque” will not have any kind of physical buttons but will be run by gesture controls, pressure-sensitive edges, or probably voice commands. This might have been one big leap for smartphone design, pushing limits beyond what is currently possible.
  • Under-Display Selfie Camera: Another big one would be the under-display selfie camera. Other companies, like Samsung and ZTE, have either tried out or implemented such technology, but Xiaomi could take this to another level, especially if all this tech is combined with an all-screen design.
  • Performance: The ‘zhuque’ probably will be powered with the forthcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 processor having the codename SM8775. This chip will possibly sport new Qryon cores and arrive first inside the Xiaomi 15S Pro, launching in Q2 2025.

Such leaks, in turn, would indicate that Xiaomi is not taking the back seat in developments, compared to its competitors. They are decked to redefine the future fad in smartphones with innovative design and leading technology, Zhuque, likely making a significant market influence when it is expected to release in the first half of 2025. This will also delineate the commitment of Xiaomi to Research and Development for bringing out some of these new features of custom chips and buttonless designs, along with probably the rumored tri-fold phone as early as next year. Not much is known about Project Zhuque at this point, but suffice to say that Xiaomi is out to prove itself nearer the better and far greater rise of smartphone technology. Follow these updates.
