Renowned blogger Digital Chat Station recently shared new information about an impending foldable smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The maker’s name wasn’t mentioned specifically, but rumor tends to target the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 for its launch in Q2 2025.
Upgraded Features and Design
According to the leak, the MIX Flip 2 will have a lot of its predecessor’s appearance but will include a few significant improvements:
- Better crease management: There will be a high-tech hinge in the device, reducing creases in a foldable screen.
- New Color & Customization Options: There will soon be new women’s colors and custom options
- Water Resistance & Charging: The device will have an IPX8 rating for water resistance and will include support for 50W wireless charging—a first for foldables with a flip form in Xiaomi’s case.
- Battery Configuration: The rating of the battery is “3825+1225=5050/5100mAh (Typ)”, suggesting a dual-cell configuration for efficient power management.
Display & Camerai Specifications
Previous leaks have mentioned a MIX Flip 2 with a 6.85-inch ±1.5K LTPO main screen and a significant secondary screen in the cover. It will feature a 50MP 1/1.5-inch primary camera and a 50MP 1/2.76-inch ultra-wide lens for upgraded camera performance for both general and ultra-wide shots.
What About a Snapdragon 8 Elite Tablet?
When asked for a confirmation about a Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered tablet launch in near future, Digital Chat Station confirmed that no such device will arrive during the first half of 2025. That means that Xiaomi enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer for a future flagship tablet powered with Qualcomm’s new chip. With the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 launch planned for Q2 2025, more information will arrive in a matter of months’ time. With these speculations proving to be true, Xiaomi will challenge Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series with a feature-packed, water-resistant, and powerful foldable clamshell device.
