Xiaomi MIX FLIP 2 in development before MIX FLIP hits two-month mark

That gives the impression that Xiaomi is indeed working on the next embodiment of its popular foldable series without wasting any time. It seems the company is already working on the MIX FLIP 2, just two months into the market release of the MIX FLIP 1. If recent findings on the GSMA database are anything to go by, then two model numbers  2505APX7BC and 2505APX7BG belong to the MIX FLIP 2. Judging by the naming convention from the predecessor, these appear to represent the MIX FLIP 2 Chinese and Global variants, respectively. The predecessor had 2405CPX3DC for China and 2405CPX3DG for the global market.

What We Know About MIX FLIP 2 So Far

It should arrive in May 2025, keeping the timeline set by the naming convention, as the model numbers go: MIX Flip-socks arrive in December; MIX Flip 2-previewed in January/announced in February/arrives in May; thus, the MIX FLIP 2 fits this timeline. With only a few details on specs, it’s been confirmed that the MIX FLIP 2 will pack in the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 platform, setting expectations high.

Summary of MIX FLIP 1 Specifications

Just two months ago, the MIX FLIP 1 set a very high bar in foldable smartphones. Here’s a quick overview of its notable specification:

  • Camera Setup: Clad with a dual-camera setup, that is, a 50MP wide and another 50MP 2X telephoto camera.

Other features include IPX8 water resistance, support for Dolby Atmos, and Android 14 running HyperOS, optimized for the flip’s outer display.

With Xiaomi charging forward with the MIX FLIP series, there’s no doubt it’s investing big in innovation and quick iteration, and fans and tech geeks are already at wit’s end. With the MIX FLIP 2 in the offing, a lot is expected of exactly what Xiaomi will pull off in the foldable smartphones arena.
