Xiaomi Mijia Electric Kettle 3 debuts for just $15

Xiaomi has officially launched its newest smart home device — the Mijia Electric Kettle 3, now on pre-order in China. The kettle will sell at 109 yuan (approximately $15 USD) and go up for sale on May 15 at 10 a.m. Built to prioritize durability, safety, and functionality, the kettle presents a smooth blend of high performance and stylish looks.

Mijia Electric Kettle 3 Key Features

Xiaomi upholds its legacy of inexpensive yet high-quality appliances by outfitting the Mijia Electric Kettle 3 with a 316L food-grade stainless steel inner liner. The material has a variety of advantages:

  • Corrosion and high-temperature resistance
  • No odor when boiled
  • Rust prevention and high hardness

With a 1.7L capacity, it is able to boil 8 cups of water at a time — ideal for small offices or families.

 

Rapid Heating and Enhanced Protection

The kettle has a powerful 1800W heating system with a 360° ring of energy convergence ensuring fast and even boiling. Xiaomi has fitted the model with a high-performance thermostat tested to handle more than 10,000 usage cycles. The appliance has the following safety features to ensure safe operation:

  • Dry-boil protection
  • Automatic shutdown at high temperatures
  • Power shut-off during lifting the kettle

Considerate Design Details

The Mijia Electric Kettle 3 was developed by Xiaomi with both functionality and user experience in mind. The kettle features a double-layer insulated body to keep the exterior cool to the hand. The U-shaped spout provides stable and non-drip pouring and the single-piece inner liner resists scale build-up. Other features are:

  • One-touch boiling & automatic reset
  • Single-handed lid opening
  • Damping lid to prevent steam scalds
  • Storage base cord organization for a neat setup

The product is now available only in China and global availability has yet to be confirmed.
