Xiaomi has officially discontinued all development on HyperOS 2, redirecting full attention and resources to the upcoming HyperOS 3 platform. This signals a pivotal shift in the company’s software roadmap, with clear intent to streamline efforts and accelerate innovation for its next-generation operating system.
The timing isn’t random—HyperOS 3 is expected to launch as early as August or September. The focus, according to preliminary details, is on delivering a more refined user interface, smoother system animations, and overall performance improvements. Xiaomi wants to ensure the transition is seamless and impactful for both current and future users. Device compatibility can be checked on their official site or through dedicated system update applications.
HyperOS 3: Launch Timeline and Strategic Implications
The projected August/September rollout positions HyperOS 3 as a major milestone for Xiaomi’s mobile ecosystem. By ending HyperOS 2 development now, the company is consolidating its engineering resources to ensure the new system launches on schedule and at optimal quality.
Refining the user experience is a top priority. HyperOS 3 will emphasize user interface improvements and system-level optimizations, reflecting Xiaomi’s commitment to staying competitive in a rapidly evolving market.
Animation and Visual Enhancements
A core highlight of HyperOS 3 will be a significantly enhanced animation system. These visual upgrades are designed to provide a more fluid, intuitive, and modern user experience—addressing an area where users have consistently requested improvements.
Dual Android Version Support
HyperOS 3 will be available in two versions, supporting both Android 15 and Android 16. This dual-version strategy ensures broad compatibility across Xiaomi’s existing and upcoming device lineup. It’s a move aimed at maximizing the user base without forcing premature hardware upgrades.
Device Compatibility and Transition Planning
To help users prepare, Xiaomi offers multiple ways to verify whether their devices are eligible for the HyperOS 3 update. Our website and dedicated update apps provide up-to-date compatibility information. There’s also the MemeOS Enhancer app on the Play Store, giving users streamlined access to system updates and additional features.

Poco c55 update hyper os please
Always underwheelming. We want functionalities not “animation and visual enhancements”, those are already ok.
No Hyper OS 2.2 update for Redmi note 14 4G and they stopped deployment
don’t give update in poco m6 pro. it’s suck.lag. no proper ram management. freeze. overall zero star. it will be last phone. long journey of redmi series 2 prime ,4A,y1lite,note 7pro,note 9,note11 pro and poco m6 pro. best os still is in 2prime and note 7 pro. worst OS is hyper os. camera suck freeze. not able to work properly ever 1.5gb ram is free. hyperos is totally fail. I don’t know what data you all are collecting. your sales shrink. lots of things in hyper os is not good. just give me back my miui.best of class. good ram management. not best but better than hyperos.
and I still don’t have 2.2 on my mi14💔
Proper battery management is more important than animations, so please focus on important things. Animations are already fine in HyperOS. But battery management is terrible. I have a Xiaomi 15 Ultra (new) and I need to charge it twice a day. This is insanely for a new phone. In order to get a fully day, I need to use Battery Saver all day long, from 100%. This is terrible. I miss MIUI 11, 12, when a phone battery last 2 days.
Please invest more in battery management, less in fancy animations.
Animations are useless on an powered off phone.
