Xiaomi is scrambling to fix this annoying global search bug

Reports are emerging of the pull-down searching function on your operating system, which is meant to aid you in instantly locating applications and files, now showing a blank page. And I have personally experienced this issue within my unit, which is running the Xiaomi HyperOS software version 3.0.40.0, as the search results will refuse to come up. And although a simple reboot will bring the function back, it is clearly a temporary fix for the software optimization issue within the new software update.

Why Is the Search Bar Empty in Xiaomi 17 Pro?

The only way, as of now, for you to resume using this functionality is by rebooting your device, and users have also suggested that clearing System Launcher’s cache helps as a temporary solution.

The Official Fix is on the Way

The bright side of this story is that we won’t have to wait very long for a fix. This is because Xiaomi has now confirmed that their software team is aware of this particular bug and is working on a patch. This patch is also expected to be released in the next minor update of Xiaomi HyperOS.
