Xiaomi HyperOS 2.2 development proceeds quietly in the background

Xiaomi fans have something to look forward to as work on next HyperOS 2.2 continues in earnest in secret. This major revamp is being tested internally on a variety of flagship devices, ranging from the gorgeous Xiaomi 15 Ultra to high-performance Xiaomi 14T Pro and standard Xiaomi 15 models. While internal testing is kept secret, insider sources say that Xiaomi is going to great pains to fine-tune the user experience before a public beta is available. This commitment to providing a smooth operating system is a big reason that Xiaomi has remained out in front in market share in smartphones globally.

Devices in Testing Stage

Several flagship Xiaomi phones are currently employing internal beta releases of HyperOS 2.2

  • Xiaomi 15 Ultra – OS2.0.200.2.VOACNXM
  • Xiaomi 15 – OS2.0.200.6.VOCCNXM
  • Xiaomi 14T Pro / REDMI K70 Ultra – OS2.0.200.7.VNNCNXM
  • Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro – OS2.0.200.5.VOYCNXM
  • Xiaomi Pad 7 – OS2.0.200.3.VOZCNXM

Though just beginning to test out HyperOS 2.2, both Xiaomi 14T Pro (also known as REDMI K70 Ultra) and standard Xiaomi 15 have already made good progress in their own cycles. Testing for Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 appears to be proceeding in a low-key manner.

Expected Features and Compatibility

Despite keeping quiet on what features will actually be in HyperOS 2.2, market analysts believe a variety of significant improvements will be included. The release is believed to have features from Android 15 QPR2 (Quarterly Platform Release 2) and may include iOS-like recent apps functionality, a feature that has been highly requested from consumers.

Note that HyperOS 2.2 will only be rolled out to devices that have already been updated to Android 15. This will mean that owners of older Xiaomi devices that have not been eligible for Android 15 will not receive this new operating system version.

Global Update Status

For overseas users, however, there will be a wait as international testing for HyperOS 2.2 has not yet begun. Xiaomi typically tests in their home market initially before going international, so international users will have to wait a few more months for stable release.

We will keep you informed as development continues with all the latest news about this new feature that will enhance your Xiaomi experience. Stay tuned.
