Xiaomi HyperOS 1.5 update is released: All new features and optimizations in detail

It is reported that Xiaomi has just rolled out a massive update for HyperOS, unofficially known as the HyperOS 1.5. It includes many optimizations and new features that reduce lots of pain points for users to very much improve the user experience of various devices, from Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro to Xiaomi 14 Ultra and even the Redmi K60 Ultra.

Improvements to the Travel Assistant

Updates now provide better functionality to the “Travel Assistant” by adding smart reminders for railway and flight itineraries. Enhancements are expected to be rolled out by mid-July totally. Xiaomi had been the only top domestic phone manufacturer lagging in fully supporting this feature, something that this update effectively closes.

Camera Optimizations for Xiaomi Mi 14 Ultra

Cameras on the Mi 14 Ultra will get very significant upgrades with this update. New features and optimizations include:

New portrait mode with 120mm focal length. Users can choose a main camera default focal length of 23mm, 28mm, and 35mm in photo mode. The zoom component inside photo mode has been further optimized to support easy and fast zooming and supported fast switching between 28mm and 35mm focal lengths using the main camera.  Added the 5x zoom to support fast switching between 10x, 30x, and 60x zoom.

Application Performance Improvements

Xiaomi has claimed to optimize the launching time of apps, reducing Cara, thus increasing their fluidity. All this will make the user experience much smoother, especially while opening applications or switching between them. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the improvements before and after the upgrade are pretty obvious.

Optimize Lock Screen from Accidental Touch

The long-anticipated feature for optimization to prevent accidental touches from the lock screen is now live. This adjusts the trigger strategy for long presses, making it unlikely that users will accidentally turn on functions from the lock screen.
