The Scientific Vision of 2021
The basic technology in the Mi Air Charge consisted of space positioning and energy transmission. In its technology, Xiaomi designed a special charging pile with 144 antennas that transmitted waves measuring a millimeter in width to a mobile device such as a Xiaomi Pad 7 or a smartphone. The technology could position the device accurately from a few meters away. The aim was to charge various devices at the same time while the individual was moving around in the room.
Technical Challenges in Mass Production
Mass production allows a company though it was technically correct, there was low charging efficiency relative to contemporary standards. As of 2026, Xiaomi is again at the forefront of fast charging, while wireless air charging is only in the prototype stage of development.
