Xiaomi floating keyboard officially announced for Xiaomi Pad 7 Series

With the product launch event from Xiaomi scheduled to take place later this month on October 29, the company has begun to raise the cadence of its pre-release announcements, which have also included the release of an important accessory for the Xiaomi Pad 7 series, namely the Xiaomi Floating Keyboard. The new accessory aims at making the tablet more productive and heterogeneous, hence offering users an experience akin to that provided by a laptop.

Key Features of the Xiaomi Floating Keyboard

  • Floating Bracket Structure: The floating bracket structure is designed with 0-124° stepless adjustment, positioning the tablet at the most favorable position for typing, drawing, or enjoying multi-media.
  • Adaptive Backlight: The keys of the floating keyboard boast an adaptive backlight system that automatically adjusts to the ambient lighting conditions whereby one may be comfortable with the keyboard in any environment.
  • Full-Range Mechanical Touchpad: One major feature is the full-range mechanical press touchpad that will enable users to have a more tactile and finely tuned sense of control in navigation, much like that of a traditional laptop, and further allow for easier interaction with the Xiaomi Tablet 7 when precision tasks need to be accomplished.

Xiaomi Tablet 7 Series Highlights:

Besides the floating keyboard, Xiaomi has disclosed some other details on the new Xiaomi Pad 7 series. Herewith some of them:

  • Display: The Xiaomi Tablet 7 will feature a 3.2K display with 345 PPI and a 144 Hz refresh rate. It will also support full DC dimming to ensure flicker-free usage for longer time lengths and will use nano soft light screen technology.
  • Performance: The tablet will be powered by the third generation Snapdragon 8s flagship platform, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, promising top-notch performance. In terms of battery capacity, the high-end model of the tablet will be packed with 67W fast charging, while the regular version supports 45W charging.
  • OS: The device shall feature Xiaomi Surge OS 2 out-of-the-box, which has an all-new reconstructed underlying system for a smoother, more efficient user experience. The tablet shall feature Xiaomi HyperCore technology to optimize performance.
  • Launch Details: The Xiaomi Tablet 7 series will be launched together with the Xiaomi 15 series, Xiaomi Pengpai OS 2, and Xiaomi SU7 Ultra at the “New Starting Point” press conference scheduled to take center stage on October 29. Pre-orders for the tablet go live from October 22.

Last year’s Xiaomi Tablet 6 series saw the same keyboard made with nano-leather materials and carried a 64-key layout called Smart Touch Keyboard; this year, the so-called floating keyboard really takes that design to the next level and offers even more functionality and flexibility to users. Coupled with the Xiaomi Floating Keyboard, the Xiaomi Pad 7 series is claimed to assure the ultimate premium and productive mix, placing it as a strong competitor in the tablet arena.
