Xiaomi executives accidentally leaked Xiaomi 15 design

Tonight, a photo of working Xiaomi executives surfaced online- and it has sparked a lot of interest. The image shows Wang Xiaoyan, VP of Xiaomi Group, President of China- holding an unreleased smartphone. The phone itself was clad in a case, but the bigger lens module was still easily discernible- and rather bold in its new design.

Contrary to the existing Xiaomi devices with a flash integrated into the camera module, this may raise some speculations that this could be a sneak peek at the highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 series.

Also, could this be the Xiaomi 15 Series?

Consequently, the timing of the leak couldn’t be better since there were many rumors going around related to the Xiaomi 15 series. Earlier, Smartprix published renders of the Xiaomi 15 Pro with a very similar rear design language; it had the flash outside of the camera module, like this photo. Some say this coincidence suggests that Xiaomi executives might have inadvertently revealed the Xiaomi 15 or Xiaomi 15 Pro.

Xiaomi 15 Pro: What We Know So Far

The rumors about the Xiaomi 15 Pro have given us a hint about what to expect. Here, then, is how that translates into a breakdown of specifications:

Design

It will use a similar design language to the Xiaomi 14 Pro, boasting a sleek glass sandwich construction with a flat metal frame. Still, some minor tweaks are in order to make way for a larger battery and display.

Color Options

We could expect the Xiaomi 15 Pro to come in three classic colors: black, white, and silver, but also with a special titanium edition for those who want it to look even more premium.

Display

The device will sport a 6.78-inch quad-curved AMOLED panel courtesy of TCL, featuring a resolution of 2K, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a pixel density of over 500 ppi to guarantee a rich and full-screen viewing experience.

Processor

The device is going to be most likely powered by the chip from Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Generation 4, though some sources allow for the thought that it could as well be called Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Memory and Storage

The Xiaomi 15 Pro will support up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for ample power and space for even the most power-needy users.

Camera System

It is supposedly going to house a triple-camera arrangement co-engineered with Leica, once again. The details include:

  • Primary Camera: 50MP Light Fusion 900 sensor with an aperture of f/1.4 for high-resolution and better low-light performance.
  • Super Wide-Angle shot: It is fitted with a 50MP sensor to capture more in a single shot.
  • Telephoto: Sony IMX858 sensor, in a 50MP setting; provides optical zoom up to 5x; equivalent focal length for extreme close-up shots is 30cm.
  • Front Camera: A 32MP clear shooter for the selfies that are crystal clear.

Battery and Charging

With a large 6000mAh battery, the Xiaomi 15 Pro will support 90W wired charging, 80W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Meanwhile, the Pro Titanium Edition is also said to allow wireless satellite connectivity for communications when cellular is not available.

Anticipated Launch

The Xiaomi series 15, meanwhile, is tipped for an official launch in China this coming October, with an early release expected in 2025 globally. Therefore, the sighting of the mysterious device carried by Wang Xiaoyan notches up hyping of this new flagship series.

The fact that this new phone has been spotted in the hands of the leadership of Xiaomi, added to the constant leaks, almost confirms that the Xiaomi 15 series is at its nearest. The Xiaomi 15 Pro is set to be among the most anticipated releases of this year, promising top notch performance with a state of the art camera system and premium design. More on the launch, it really promises exciting innovations in the smartphone arena!
