There is nothing more annoying than buying a flagship smartphone or tablet and then discovering software bugs and glitches that get in the way of your daily use. Whether it is a camera not focusing or a video streaming app crashing, these “critical bugs” ruin the premium experience we’ve come to expect from our flagship devices.
Well, good news for all Xiaomi users because Xiaomi has finally addressed some of these critical bugs and software glitches plaguing their flagship devices, namely the Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 14T, and the new Xiaomi Pad 7 series.
What Critical Bugs Were Fixed?
We follow the Xiaomi HyperOS development tracker to ensure we’re always in the know about what’s new and what’s fixed in the upcoming updates for our Xiaomi devices. In this week’s HyperOS Weekly Report, Xiaomi addressed several “Major Priority” issues affecting their flagship devices. If you use any of the following devices, be sure to check for the latest OTA update. Here’s a list of bugs that have been fixed, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Xiaomi 15T: Third-party apps were not showing properly on the screen.
- Xiaomi 15: Intermittent rear camera photo clarity issues.
- Xiaomi Pad 7: YouTube interface elements were not showing properly.
- Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro: Playback and interface issues with the Netflix app.
- Xiaomi 14T: Mi Browser was not able to redirect links to Google Maps.
Is Your Device Global or China-Exclusive?
It is important to note that update rollouts may be region-specific. While Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T are mainstays in the Global market, it is important to note that tablet releases may vary.
It is also important to note that hardware specifications may vary depending on region. For example, batteries found in Xiaomi devices in the Global market may have slightly smaller battery capacity than their counterparts in China, owing to differences in safety regulations and internal designs.
What’s Next for HyperOS?
Now that these “Major Priority” bugs are fixed, it is likely that the next few weeks will see Xiaomi working on further optimization and battery stability. Xiaomi may be working on fixing these issues faster than before, which could be in direct response to user feedback on community forums.
If you are still experiencing issues with Xiaomi HyperConnect and/or general lag issues, it is important to note that you should submit your report via the Services & Feedback app. The more data they have, the faster they will be able to roll out these weekly fixes.
