Xiaomi devices losing update support in 2025

In 2025, many Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices will attain EOL. The Android 14-based HyperOS 2 update will be the last major software update for some of these devices, while others will end their update cycle without getting the update. Here’s a detailed list of devices with their HyperOS 2 update status.

Devices Receiving Android 14-based HyperOS 2 as Their Last Update

  1. Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE
  2. Xiaomi 11T Pro
  3. Xiaomi 11T
  4. Mi 11 Ultra
  5. Mi 11
  6. Mi 11 Pro

These models will receive HyperOS 2, which is a major software update before the end of their update lifecycle.

Devices Not Getting HyperOS 2 Before Support Ends

  1. Redmi Note 11 SE
  2. POCO M4 5G
  3. Redmi 10 5G
  4. Redmi 11 Prime 5G
  5. Redmi 10C
  6. Redmi Pad
  7. Redmi Note 11S
  8. Redmi Note 11
  9. Redmi Note 11S 5G
  10. Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G
  11. Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G
  12. POCO M4 Pro
  13. POCO X4 Pro 5G

These devices, while popular in their time, will not get the HyperOS 2 update and will end their update journey on older software versions.

Implications for Users

While that may be true, once devices fall out of their update support window, security degrades and new features introduced in future software versions are not available to them, but they would still be able to use their devices as-is or find custom ROMs for extended usability.

It essentially means the end of an era for these Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO models. At this point, such users may well migrate to the new models that arrive with long-term update guarantees, like Xiaomi 15 series or Redmi K70 series.

What is the point the Chinese Manufacturer seemed to have forgotten my Xiaomi 13 Ultra in updating it. It was still stuck in the Miui. So for me it was not a happy day and I don’t know why should I buy their products they were not willing to update freely as they promised.

you know i hope that the devices that are going to get hyperos 2.0 have a buttery smooth experience not like the animations and all that fancy stuff is only for high-end or the newer models

It’s incredible that a company doesn’t support its products until the end, that’s like leaving your soldier alone in the war and forgetting about him… incredible!!

My Poco F3 (The so called flagship killer) which I have had for 3 years now will according to Xam will no longer receive firmware, software or security updates ever again. This phone has been the best that I have ever had, but they have resigned it to the bin. Will never buy from them ever again due to their lack of loyalty to their customers, disgusting treatment!!!!!!!

If Xiaomi cannot give long term support to customers then no need to spend on costly models just buy cheaper with maximum support and that’s it.

It’s surreal to talk about “end of its era” and “new era” in reference to devices that have barely been on the market for a couple of years. Damn compulsive consumerism.

Hello. Considering Xiaomi’s poor support for its products and poor updates with many problems and bugs, I request you to please increase the support period and be more careful in providing new updates because in the current form you are only losing your own users and giving everyone hope. Thank you.

I have Redmi 10C and I’m still waiting to see will it get one last update from MIUI 14 to HyperOS 1. I’ve heard from many people and on different phones and brands that updates usually make things worse and the last update before support is dropped is the last nail in the coffin for the device. The update usually makes the device much slower, battery drains way faster, some features are removed and basically you’re encouraged to buy a new phone. My phone started with MIUI 13 and Android 11, now after 2 major updates, it’s on MIUI 14 and Android 13. Performance-wise, I can’t really put my finger on anything, if the phone got slower, but I notice my battery in the last year drains a bit faster, I don’t know if I should attribute that to age, as I bought the phone in August 2022 and it’s just the natural course of events or the updates made it like this.

But one thing I did notice was the glass/blur effect was available even only through Themes downloaded from the Theme store, but after the update to MIUI 14, even themes that supported glass/blur, no longer display it. Xiami has disabled this feature on my phone and ther is no way to get it back. It’s certainly not sometihng I will lose sleep over, but it’s an example of something I had and now I don’t. And to be honest, the solid gray background that replaces the blur is kinda ugly, if it was black or white, it would’ve been much better.

If I get the HyperOS update before support drops, I will install it, mainly of curiosity to see what it’s like and if the device will feel worse after that. And if it does, I may consider not updating my future devices and keep them on their original version, only installing security updates from Google.
