Xiaomi brings Adobe Lightroom’s best feature to HyperOS 3 Gallery

We have all been there: returning from a vacation or from taking pictures during the sunset with dozens of amazing photos, but the lighting in each one is just slightly off. Editing each one individually is a nightmare that sucks the fun out of photography.

Thankfully, Xiaomi HyperOS 3 is finally tackling this issue with a major quality of life update to the stock Gallery app. This is made possible through the introduction of Batch Photo Editing, which enables users to apply modifications from one image and apply it instantly to other images.

TL;DR

  • New Feature: Xiaomi HyperOS 3 adds a feature called “Batch Photo Editing” or Copy & Paste Edits
  • How it Works: Edit a picture, copy the “edit points,” and paste them on a chosen set of photos.
  • Best For: Best for creating a uniform mood for travel albums, sunsets, and portrait shoots.
  • Availability: Just rolled out with new HyperOS 3 minor update.

Why Do You Need Batch Editing?

If you have ever worked with Adobe Lightroom, then you understand the importance of “Presets” to a uniform Instagram aesthetic. Xiaomi HyperOS 3 basically integrates the same functionality on your mobile device.

Whether it is a series of portraits where the skin tones require a slight warm-up or a landscape series where the contrast needs to be kicked up, this feature will ensure consistency. You will no longer have to remember to set the saturation to +15 on the previous image.

Ready to boost the pace of your workflow? This feature is easy to use, making complex functionality a mere tap away.

Prerequisites: You should be running the latest version of the Xiaomi HyperOS 3 Gallery and Gallery editor app. The new editor rolled out via server update. You may couldn’t get feature even you update your apps.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Perfect Your First Shot: Open your Gallery, select a photo, and enter Edit Mode. Adjust your lighting, filters, and color grading until you are happy with the look.

  2. Copy the Magic: While still in the edit screen, tap the “More” (three-dot menu) in the top right corner. Select “Copy edit points”.

  3. Select Your Targets: Go back to the main grid view of your Gallery. Long-press to select all the other photos you want to apply this look to.

  4. Paste and Apply: Once selected, look for the “Creativity” or options menu at the bottom. Tap “Paste edit points”.

Note: The processing happens locally on your device. If you select a massive number of high-resolution photos (like 50MP RAW files), it might take a few seconds to process the batch.

When is this Useful?

In our testing, we found three specific scenarios where this feature is a lifesaver:

  • Golden Hour Photography: The light changes rapidly during sunsets. Once you nail the white balance for one shot, applying it to the whole series keeps the colors accurate.
  • Event Photography: If you are shooting a birthday or wedding indoors, the lighting conditions are usually static. One edit fixes the whole album.
  • Visual Consistency: For content creators, maintaining a specific “color grade” across different posts is key for branding.
