On Friday, Xiaomi Auto and NIO jointly announced a strategic collaboration aimed at improving the charging and energy replenishment networks of both companies. It integrated more than 14,000 NIO charging piles into the Xiaomi charging map, further enhancing the convenience and accessibility for the users of Xiaomi Auto.
Key Highlights of the Collaboration
- Charging Network Integration: With this, owners of the Xiaomi Auto can now get dynamic data from NIO charging stations directly on their Xiaomi charging map, in which station availability and current status are updated in real time.
- Seamless Charging Experience: The integration also supports charging by scanning the QR code via the Xiaomi Auto App to make the process easy for Xiaomi SU7 owners.
Alignment with NIO’s Ambitious Goals
During the 2024 NIO Charging Day event, NIO introduced an ambitious “Charging in Every County” plan that it intends to realize by June 30, 2025, to ensure charging coverage of all county-level administrative regions across China. This move with Xiaomi Auto is part of this very vision: to enable broader access to energy replenishment services.
Growthtrajectory of Xiaomi Auto
Xiaomi Auto does not stop surprising in the EV market:
- The first model, the SU7 Series from Xiaomi, did reach the level of providing 100,000 units within 230 days.
- This would be followed by the launch of the second vehicle-the YU7 SUV from Xiaomi- scheduled for June-July 2025. This new model will surely add value to Xiaomi’s venture further in the competitive EV arena.
This not only expands the accessibility of charging facilities for Xiaomi Auto users but also reflects Xiaomi’s commitment to creating a seamless and integrated ecosystem for its EV customers. With real-time updates on charging and cross-network compatibility, this is going to raise the user experience to the next level. The cooperation between Xiaomi and NIO thus marks a very important move toward improving the infrastructure in China for EVs and will further help the growth in the number of its rapidly growing EV users in the country. Watch this space as Xiaomi and NIO make more news in the field of EVs.
