Xiaomi Auto buys 250,000 USIM cards from China Mobile

According to the documents published on China Mobile’s procurement and bidding website, Xiaomi Auto has made an important move in its telecommunications strategy by purchasing 250,000 M2M USIM cards from China Mobile through the supplier Jide (Jiangxi) Technology Co., Ltd.

Status of the Current Network and Future Plans

Confirmed in a call to Xiaomi Auto’s 24-hour hotline that Xiaomi Auto currently only operates on China Telecom’s network. With this large-scale purchase of USIM cards, the company is likely to expand to include China Mobile’s network services, marking one of the biggest steps toward multi-carrier support for their vehicles.

Ambitious Delivery Targets

It seems that this USIM card order quantity is already in line with the bold delivery targets of Xiaomi. On December 31, Lei Jun, the founder of Xiaomi, announced the company’s delivery targets: Over 135,000 Vehicles Planned for 2024 Target: 300,000 vehicles by 2025
