Xiaomi aiming to be “King of Public EV Charging Piles” in 2025

On January 27, Lei Jun, chief executive officer of Xiaomi Group, promised to make this year big for Xiaomi Motors in 2025 with the domination of the business in public charging infrastructure and becoming the “King of Public Charging Piles.”

Meanwhile, Xiaomi Motors started actively working together in charging systems: “simultaneously supplying over 1.02M piles from 13 High Quality, selected operators at a value fee, all within their ” maps called the Xiaomi charging e-map “.

Key highlights include: More than 800,000 DC-fast-charging piles in service: Covering 365 cities and 88.1% of highway service areas.

Achievements in 2024

Xiaomi Motors did exceptionally well in 2024 and set up a good foundational record for its plans in 2025:

  • Xiaomi SU7 Sales: Churned out more than 130,000 units in sales, with remarkable consumer interest in its flagship EV model.
  • Intelligent Driving Milestone: Cumulatively, for the first time, it crossed 100 million kilometers with big enhancements in autonomous driving.
  • Retail expansion: Total stores opened are 200 stores across 58 cities. Increased exposure in urban and suburban areas for better penetration of Xiaomi automotive products.
  • Investment in R&D: Exceeded RMB 13 billion in research and development.
  • Secured over 1,000 patents for the advancement of hardware and software.
