Xiaomi 15 Ultra will have dual satellite communication

The highly expected Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which already should officially hit the market by February 2025, is again at the center of talks as more details appear related to exclusive functions. According to messages from well-known digital blogger Digital Chat Station, this “Super Cup” flagship model is to get support for dual satellite communication technologies and differ from other siblings in the Xiaomi 15 family line that will receive the usual 5G connectivity.

Dual Satellite Communication: A Game Changer

Speaking of variants, two will be made available for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra:

  • Standard Version: Supports Tiantong satellite calls.
  • High Version: Equipped with functions like Tiantong satellite calls and Beidou satellite text messaging.

It includes Tiantong Satellite Communication managed by China Telecom, which can be used for satellite phone services, and the Beidou SMS function that can send text messages via satellites in places where cellular reception is poor. This service allows location sharing, too, which is of great help in remote or extreme environments.

The technology will provide the Xiaomi 15 Ultra with the capability to act like a lifeline for adventurers, researchers, and rescue teams alike by allowing them to communicate from deep mountains and plateaus or areas without proper or any signal coverage.
