Xiaomi 15 Ultra receives huge photo watermark update

Xiaomi expands its smartphone photography capabilities further, and the new Xiaomi 15 Ultra update provides a significant watermarks boost for photos. Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing recently revealed the device will support four watermark styles and black and white backgrounds. The update provides a new level of customization for Xiaomi’s award-winning Leica-based photography platform, with users now able to add chic branding to their photos with minimal effort. Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s latest watermark update introduces a new feature set through which users get more control over how their photos are watermarked. The main highlights are as follows:

Four Watermark Designs

• Leica Exclusive Watermark – A premium Leica-branded watermark which lends credibility to photography.
• Leica Watermark – Official Leica watermark for professional finish.
• Check-in Watermark – Most appropriate for watermarking locations or moments.
• Default Watermark – A simple watermark option, which is editable.

Acquiring Access to the New Watermark Styles

Xiaomi makes it easy to turn on and configure these new watermark capabilities. You can turn the features on using either of the following options:

Method 1: Quick Access via Camera App

1. Open the Camera App.
2. Lower the screen to expose the Camera Menu.
3. Click Watermark and choose a preferred design.

Method 2: Settings Menu

1. Go to Camera Settings.
2. Navigate to Photo Settings.
3. Click Watermark to switch the style and select a black or white background.

When Will Older Xiaomi Devices Get This Feature?

In November 2024, a Xiaomi user proposed the introduction of a color customization feature for watermarks in the camera. To this end, Wei Siqi assured that the feature will be made available for older Xiaomi devices through a future camera update. This indicates that the feature will probably be introduced through the release of HyperOS 2.2 for other devices within Xiaomi’s flagship series. With this release, Xiaomi further demonstrates its commitment towards enhancing the user experience, especially for smartphone photography enthusiasts.
