Xiaomi 15 Ultra: January launch further pushed as final polish ongoing

Tech blogger Digital Chat Station has just revealed that the highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 Ultra, referred to as “15U”, will not be released this coming January 2025 as previously speculated. Already highly hyped, this phone is still in the finishing touches, especially on software development, even though the hardware is “almost ready.”

3C Certification Secured

By December 4, 2024, two models of Xiaomi 15 Ultra had gotten 3C certification. The certificates point out the following:

Standard support for satellite communications.

Hardware and Configuration Details

Performance: Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB storage.
Display: It is expected to come with a custom 2K resolution domestic screen. Some engineering units boast of Samsung panels.
Satellite Communication: The premium configurations come with Tiantong satellite calling whereas the premium configurations support Tiantong satellite calls + Beidou satellite SMS.
200-Megapixel periscoop telephoto lens combined with a larger sensor yet wider aperture.

1-inch 50MP main camera with an impressively large aperture of F1.63.
Charging: Provides 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
Accessories: Will launch with a new camera handle kit for better photography.

Why the Delay?

In response to questions from netizens, Digital Chat Station explained:

Certification or network approvals do not guarantee an immediate release. While the hardware is complete, Xiaomi has been working on fine-tuning the software experience for a premium flagship device.
