Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Design, Specifications Leak Ahead of February 2025 Launch

Xiaomi is preparing the release of Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro for the end of October 2024. But the big bombshell will be the long-anticipated Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which is expected to arrive in February 2025. Regarding this flagship model, for months there have been rumored news and leaks. Now, thanks to tipster Yogesh Brar, we can see at least a design and possible specs of this phone.

Spectacular Design with Enhanced Camera Setup

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is going to be extremely eye-catching with its exceptional design. Among these striking highlights, there is likely the addition of a large, round camera module to its rear with four lenses. Adding to this design is the Leica branding that ascertains some advanced photography capabilities. A periscope zoom lens, which will most likely be huge compared to earlier models, sits on the right-hand side of the camera module.

The periscope module will have a resolution of 200 MP with 4.3x optical zoom and an f/2.6 aperture, all powered by Samsung’s ISOCELL HP9 sensor measuring 1/1.4″. Running parallel to it would be the 50 MP primary camera, supposed to have a Sony sensor and be extremely clear and sharp. The other two lenses would be no less impressive: a 50 MP ultra-wide camera and a 50 MP 2x telephoto zoom lens.

The avid selfie takers will love the 32 MP leading camera for superior photos, while two horizontally positioned flash LEDs at the top of the rear module help in shooting well in low light conditions. Overall, this setup promises to deliver outstanding performance, especially in HDR and night mode photography.

Display and Performance Enhancements

It is fitting that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra should also boast a screen with an outstanding group of specifications: a 6.7-inch 2K LTPO micro quad-curved display that supports refreshing in 120 Hz. Of course, this means extended use will be even more comfortable for things like gaming, streaming video, and general usage.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be powered by the newly introduced Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, making it one of the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful processor. This chipset will deliver a significant boost in performance due to the new Oryon CPU architecture, which will drive higher efficiency and improved multitasking capacity with AI-driven functionalities.

Battery and Charging Capabilities

For the global variant, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra could pack in a 6,000 mAh battery. In comparison, its Chinese variant will get a slightly smaller 5,300 mAh battery. It could support as high as 90W of wired charging and 80W of wireless charging to let users refill their phones fairly quickly without having to wait for a long time.

HyperOS 2 and AI Integration The software driving the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be powered by Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2. Based on Android 15, this will be tuned to glean maximum performance from both the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and its AI capabilities. The integration of various AI-driven features pushes Xiaomi up a notch in terms of ensuring smoother operation, more intelligent camera enhancements, and better battery efficiency.

Launch Date and Global Availability

The Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro are set to launch in China before the end of October 2024, with a likely spill into other global markets. But the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has been slated for February 2025, and all signs point toward this being a real flagship device that pushes the boundaries of smartphone technology. This launch is really exciting, with Xiaomi continuing to push the envelope with top-of-the-line hardware and software to meet the needs of users who are power hungry. Keep an eye on further details from Xiaomi, as they are about to officially announce the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and let everyone know about their strategic and powerful specifications.
