According to the Weibo blogger @体验more, highly-anticipated Xiaomi 15 Pro received a serious upgrade in telescoping by embedding the 120mm Sony IMX858 sensor with 5X optical zoom. This was quite a leap from the previous Xiaomi 14 Pro, with its 3X optical zoom combined with 10cm macro lens. The Xiaomi 15 Pro’s newer sensor provides better zooming capability, therefore offering users a better experience when shooting pictures.
Key Upgrade: Telephoto Sensor
The Xiaomi 15 Pro has finally come with the same sensor as the telephoto lens on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra: the Sony IMX858. The IMX858 sensor measures in at 1/2.51-inch with a full-pixel focus system-thus, supporting full-pixel phase detection autofocus, which is the reason it guarantees speed and precision when focusing. And such an upgrade brings about a noticeable effect: radical improvements in the results of telephoto shooting and low-light photography, making the Xiaomi 15 Pro quite tempting for mobile photography lovers.
Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro Receives 3C Certification
Off the camera upgrade, the Xiaomi 15 (24129PN74C) and Xiaomi 15 Pro Titanium Edition (2410DPN6CC) have cleared China’s 3C quality certification, which shows that the model will sport up to 90W fast charging. Models manufactured by Beijing Changshu Technology Co., Ltd. and Lens Technology (Xiangtan) Co., Ltd., respectively, were fitted with the MDY-14-EC charger, the same found with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
Snapdragon 8 Generation 4 Processor in Sight
The Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit 2024, scheduled from October 21st to 23rd, will officially launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Snapdragon 8 Elite. It is also expected that this processor will power the Xiaomi 15 series and bring more performance upgrades.
