Xiaomi 15 camera sensors revealed: Advanced imaging with main and telephoto lenses

The highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 series is generating buzz ahead of its official launch, with new details emerging about its camera system. Xiaomi is known for pushing the boundaries of mobile photography, and the Xiaomi 15 is set to continue this trend with impressive sensor specifications that aim to provide both versatility and high-quality imaging. Here’s a closer look at the recently leaked camera sensor information.

Main Camera: f/1.62-f/2.2, 14mm-60mm

The Xiaomi 15’s main camera is equipped with a versatile aperture range of f/1.62 to f/2.2, which allows for greater control over depth of field and light intake. This feature ensures that users can capture sharp images with enhanced clarity in various lighting conditions, from low-light environments to bright daylight scenes.

The lens has a focal length range of 14mm to 60mm, which indicates wide-angle capabilities at the 14mm end, perfect for capturing landscapes, architectural shots, or group photos. At the 60mm focal length, users can enjoy a more standard, portrait-friendly field of view, delivering stunning results for close-up shots with natural bokeh effects.

Telephoto Lens: JN1 60mm f/2.2

The telephoto lens on the Xiaomi 15 features a JN1 sensor with a fixed focal length of 60mm and an f/2.2 aperture. The 60mm focal length is ideal for zooming in without compromising image quality, allowing users to capture distant subjects with excellent detail. The f/2.2 aperture ensures good performance even in medium lighting conditions, balancing sharpness and exposure.

This telephoto sensor enhances the Xiaomi 15’s versatility, making it a go-to device for users who want to experiment with different photography styles, whether they’re shooting close-up portraits or zooming in on distant subjects.

Enhanced Photography with Leica-Tuned Optics

As with previous models, Xiaomi continues its collaboration with Leica, fine-tuning the camera optics to deliver superior color accuracy and image quality. Users can expect professional-grade photo results, particularly in portrait modes and advanced photography settings.

With the Xiaomi 15, users will have access to a powerful, versatile camera setup that includes a main camera with an adjustable aperture for both wide-angle and portrait shots, along with a telephoto lens for detailed zoom photography. The device’s advanced sensor technology, combined with Leica’s expertise, makes it a strong contender for mobile photography enthusiasts looking for professional-grade capabilities in a smartphone.

The Xiaomi 15 series is shaping up to be one of the most exciting smartphone releases of the year, and its camera system alone promises to set a new standard in mobile photography. Stay tuned for more details as the official release approaches.

    Wrong information.

Main lens doesn’t have a focal length of 14-60 mm. Its a fixed focal length, probably at 23mm. 14mm is for wide and 60mm is for telephoto. The aperture is 1.6 for main lens and 2.2 for telephoto lens.

Which basically the same as Xiaomi 14s camera (14 doesn’t have a 75mm lens, its a digital crop)

    What about the periscope lens?

The main lens doesn’t have a focal length of 14-60mm and an aperture of 1.6 to 2.2. Main lens will probably be at 23mm, f1.6, and the ultra wide will be at 14mm f2.2 and telephoto lens at 60mm, which is basically the camera module of Xiaomi 14. The additional thing would be the periscope lens.
