Xiaomi 14 Ultra early prototype leaked: Showcases purple glossy glass back

Recently, some early engineering shots of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra appeared online, showing an unexpected purple glossy glass back and a round camera module. This is a pretty different prototype design compared to the presently selling Xiaomi 14 Ultra that comes in color options like white, black, dragon crystal blue, and a special titanium edition.

  • Primary Camera: Sony LYT-900 sensor of 50MP with OIS and one-inch size with variable aperture 1024 levels from f/1.63 to f/4.0, added with an ALD ultra-low-reflection coating for higher clarity and versatility.
  • The ultra-wide-angle and telephoto cameras have additional lenses for enhanced image quality; the Sony IMX858 sensor is utilized.

Design Highlights

As seen in the leaks, the purple glossy glass back and the circular camera module are a fresh design aesthetic for flagship Xiaomi series. Should Xiaomi ever launch this variant, they will cater to a class of consumers who look for something different from the usual color variants. The feature set of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra means this is a very competitive flagship, particularly in terms of powerful hardware, fast charging, and a Leica-enhanced camera system. Of course, Xiaomi continues to refine its flagships, and this very early prototype suggests it is considering fresh design choices to reach an expanded audience.
