Xiaomi announced a beta version of the operating system-named the HyperOS Enhanced Edition-to serve as a test platform for optimizing core experiences and introducing several system-level enhancements. The new HyperOS Enhanced Edition is an independent branch of Xiaomi’s OS-HyperOS-which would now serve as a testing ground for new kernel-level technical solutions, or technologies that are later integrated into Xiaomi’s main OS after some thorough testing and refinement.

The main goal with HyperOS Enhanced is to release a HyperOS based on Android 15.

• Android 15 Based: The Enhanced Edition will be sitting on Android 15 and serve as a bridge towards the adaptation of the upgraded version before the full changeover to HyperOS 2.0. Just like how some devices last year received MIUI 14.1, which was based on Android 14, here Xiaomi is doing exactly the same thing with Enhanced Edition.

Overview of Beta Recruitment and Registration Process

Beta recruitment for the Xiaomi HyperOS Enhanced Edition runs from September 13, 2024, through to September 17, 2024. In order to vainly sign up, one needs to fire up the Xiaomi Community App, head to the “Experience Enhanced Beta” section, and follow the on-screen instructions. Eligible users will be notified via a notification by the end of September 2024 with guidance provided on how to install the beta update.
